I installed the BIE (filename below) version of Windows Vista X86. The system was activated and has been for a few weeks.

Odd thing however, when the machine sleeps and comes alive, activation is displaying a count down timer. A reboot corrects the issue but it happens every time the workstation falls asleep and wakes up.

Is anyone else seeing the issue and how do you work around it?

I am using a Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3R ver. 1.0 Bios F9 motherboard. Just updated the bios from V6 to V9.

Aside from disabling S3, what can I do?

Hi! there, are you still having problems?

I'm about to install the August version. On a dual boot (one physical drive with two partitions) one with Xp (this one,) and one where Vista is going to get installed. I got an error on my former vista installation and didn't know how to fix it properly.
    It looked like this:
    ------------

    acpi
    Vista Loader 2.1.2

    Done!
    fallback 1
    find -- set - root /bootmgr

    Error 17: File not found
    Booting "Windows NT/2000/XP"

    fallback 2
    find --set root /ntldr

    Error 17: File not found
    Booting "Enter Command Line"

Boot failed! Press any key to enter command line.

    -------------

I didn't understand ****, and didn't know what to do and it ended with an empty partition and no vista. I did manage to recover XP somehow.

I understand that is a bit below this place dignity to dowload a already fixed vista and not mod yourself but I recently discovered this place and need to read posts and learn more on the subject.

My motherboard is a GA X38-DQ6, is :"Microsoft.Windows.Vista.ULTIMATE.x86.SP1.Integrate.August.2008.OEM.DVD-BIE"
    a good choice?

Thank you all for your attention and advice!
