Ok that's great you have a valid install ISO... Good Job Now let's address the questions that acrsn asked in post #17
When I hit alt - F10 it comes up with Please select boot device: SATA: 3M-ST3750630A3 CD/DVD:4M-OPTIARC DVD RW AD-720 USB: GENERIC - COMPACT USB:GENERIC- SMxD - PICTURE USB: GENERIC- SD/MMC USB: GENERIC- MS/MS-PRO NETWORK:B03 D00 YUKON PXE If I choose the first one it goes to a black screen with a flashing white cursor. If I choose the second one it goes to the black screen with white flashing cursor, so I restart it with the recovery disk in it and it still goes to the black screen. However not sure the recovery disk was any good anymore as my daughter tried to format it and use it.
It went through Windows is Loading Files and gives me options to attempt automated repair which I chose and under the diagnostic part the very last thing on it says Root cause found: System volume on disk is corrupt. Repair action: File system repair (chkdsk) Result: Completed successfully. Error code = 0x0 But when it restarts it goes back to the black screen with the white cursor.
0x0 shows bad hard drive. So with bad drive no recovery possible. New hard drive. Did you get the ISO to match?
If this does not work you will have to install new or working used hard drive and we can go from there.
Also tried to system restore method where it told me to open command prompt, opened command prompt and it had: x:\windows\system32 It told me to enter: rstrui.exe /OFFLINE:C:\Windows I did this and it finally came up with no restore points have been created on your systems disk.
