Sorry to say it failed. I followed your instructions to the letter and received the appropriate confirmation that the certificate was installed and the key. Still has the 30 days to activate tag...... and..... It's also saying that the licence evaluation has failed.
Urie/Venu, could you please tell me where to get hold of the Acer 2.0 certificate? I'm assuming that the key (Acer Ultimate) remains the same? Many thanks

Windows 7? Wow. I have that as an upgrade to Vista Home Premium on my Fuji laptop. Presume I do an anytime upgrade?
Added new cert (2.0) and same key but result is the same. 30 days to activate and saying Vista Ultimate key typed is invalid for activation.....
Anyone with any ideas please? Maybe not significant but ran Slic toolkit - didn't find anything......
I think the upgrade is screwed up. Upgrades are a bad idea in any case. Suggest you back up your data and do a clean install of vista ultimate using an untouched iso like the one downloadable from this forum. Dont enter the key during install and uncheck 'Activate Online'. After clean install, install the acer 2.0 cert and acer vista ultimate key. Then let us know the activation status.
OK, thanks. I'm a bit baffled as to why the update is messed up on the DVD. Don't really see how this can happen. But I'm no expert by a long way. Interesting thing is though I've re-loaded a disk image of Vista HP. This runs OK. When I go to check the activation status nothing is visible at all. Status not available, Product ID not available. I'm probably looking at a complete re-install like you say but may do this from my Home Premium DVD and leave it at that. I know you guys are experts at this, and thanks for your excellent help, but maybe this is a bridge too far for me.
Dude.. whether you clean install from your home premium dvd or from an iso here, its the same thing. Ya, you wont get some logos and themes but thats no big deal. also dont know whether that hp disk has drivers but even those could be installed manually. But good luck in whatever you decide!
Venu, thanks. Tried to find a link to download the Ultimate iso but none available as far as I can see..... Why do you think this hasn't worked with the Home Premium DVD? This is an original purchased OEM disk, not an upgrade disk. What could be the reason? If the slic memory dump for the MESH PC shows that the version is Acer 2.0? and the cert matches how can it not activate? Sorry for all the questions but I'm trying to find a way forward so I can master this and stop giving yourself and Urie so much hassle. I take it I can create a Vista Ultimate DVD from the Home Premium DVD but as this will involve copying the same cert and key will this not result in the same situation? Requires activation after 30 days?
