Hi, Things not adding up. 1. SLIC 2.0 = VISTA 2. Hyper-V SLIC is 2.0 = Vista a) Which version of vista comes with build-in Cert for SLIC-2.0, that is not OEM ? b) Which version of Vista has the VRTUALMICROSFT cert in it ? c) When did Hyper-V first have the SLIC 2.0 BIOS ? d) Can Vista activate on SLIC 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 ? e) Is there a OEM key for VRTUALMICROSFT SLIC ? f) Is there a way to check an ISO file to see which OEM comes build-in ? Thanks. BTW: just in case you have seen it, I am looking for the VRTUALMICROSFT 2.0 SLIC Certificate.
a) ONLY OEM would have certificate b) NONE, there is none in known existence c) not sure, but Server 2008 I would expect (same as Vista) d) NO, SLIC & certificate must match, but even if they do (ie Dell had no new certificate for SLIC 2.1 - used the same as relating to SLIC 2.0 - Vista would not understand existence of SLIC 2.1, so would not activate) e) keys were always manufacturer independent = NOT tied to any SLIC etc f) OEM iso would have $OEM$ folder with certificate, check certificate, you will know manufacturer (almost) or search for iso hash, somebody might have published it
