Hmm this thread is closed I guess. Any idea how to mod my mobo with f10 bios? What should I do step by step?
The GA boards overwrite the memory position of where the SLIC is positioned when they come out of sleep/hybination. My bin file changes the position of the SLIC in memory to avoid this issue.
I also have this problem on my GA-EP45-DS3R im using vista loader and it activates fine until i use s3. I tried one of the bios' on here and still the same problem, is there a fix for this at all yet?
hmm so it's probably the same bios we found here which you tried nugget. we should wait till we get help from 911medic or tommiy then
those are the ones I downloaded but haven't tried. what about you nugget? have u uninstalled vista loader after modding? and it didn't work?
Didnt realise vista loader needed to be uninstalled, its working now thanks alot . I uses the Asus Bios to test not sure about the HP one.
thanks zort. I couldn't find a newer one from gigabyte's site but this can work I guess. Btw is it possible to flash by qflash? And will I be able to run server 2008 with this bios?
Use the HP one if you would like to run the Server 2008. It really doesn't matter, but they are both tested. All you need is the serial for WS2008 and the cert for whatever SLIC you are using, in this case ASUS. The FLASHSPI Should be with the BIOS with the gigabyte. You do not need the newest, the one that is packed with the bios is fine. They are always with the bios when D/L. I have seen mixed luck with Q-Flash.Try and see is the only way to know if yours will work. Its pretty benign with this type of mod. The certs/SLICS work with Vista x86/64 and WS2008 x86/64..The serials are different between WS2008 and Vista.. Enjoy
thank you very much for your help 911medic. now apart from activating vista I got another problem to solve (tdr issue in vista). Hope I can find a solution to it too
I flashed it using qflash just put the bios on a usb drive, if it dosent find it try making the usb drive bootable (google is your friend)
