    cbrom <your bisio file> /ISA <isa rom file>

    can't get much simplier

Which version of cbrom are you using ?

I've tried cbrom 2.07 but this does not accept the hyphens and underscores in the isa rom filename "ISA-GA_SP1.BIN". It accepts it if I rename the file !

But if that filename worked for you then maybe you are using a different version of cbrom ?

So should I be able to use this on Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R F10 2.0 Bios ?

CBROM 1.55 is the one to use.

    Thanks, that appears to work.

Will try flashing bios after I've read up on the recovery procedures for a bricked motherboard !

I tried that before and when I rebooted my Vista wasn't activated, so I thought I might of been doing something wrong. I got it to work this time and after sleep I'm still activated. It works and thank you.

Yes, if you use ASUS certificate. That's what I use right now with no any problems.
    But its your call.

    Tommiy,

Excellent, many thanks, works perfectly with GA-P35CDS3R.F10 Rev. 2.0 BIOS.

After S3 sleep SP1 still activated.

Do you think that this method works on all bios of gigabyte?
I have a GA-X38 DQ6 now with a modified asus bios. Vista is activated but not after sleep S3.
do you think that the ISA-GA_SP1.BIN work on my motherboard ?

I assumed he meant fixing it so it wouldn't annoy "legitimate" users. Those who bought computers with Vista pre-installed should be affected by this as well, if they have Gigabyte boards.

However, I'm not sure if Gigabyte actually sells boards for systems or not. There's no SLIC for them, after all.

Yes they do sell systems with preactivated Vista installations...
A genuine Gigabyte system which comes with Vista preinstalled has the SLIC build in properly, not patched in like you see in mods. You may assume a System Board builder as big as Gigabyte know what they are doing

Okay, thanks. I was under the impression that a modded BIOS looked the same to Windows as a real OEM BIOS.

    Hello,

I tested the same method for a GIGABYTE GA-P35-DQ6 Rev.1.0 Mobo
    and BIOS F7

Everything works fine and VISTA X64 SP1 is ACTIVATED - also after S3 sleep :D !

    Thank you tommiy
