    Hi mates,
I just bought a dell inspiron 1525 with vista basic installed with a copy of vista home basic dvd. After reading in forum i came to know that i can also convert my vista home basic to vista ultimate.
Now i like to ask that do i need OEM file too as other members are requesting or i just need to replace keys with ultimate oem keys in PID.TXT
If i change only key with ultimate oem key in my dell vista home basic dvd with the help of ultraiso then should it become ORIGINAL OEM VISTA ULTIMATE or not?(like a dell vista ultimate)
I want my dell vista home basic to change as dell vista ultimate with all logos and other stuffs. so for this i need to change only key in PID.TXT or i have to change something else?

Well, remove both PID's and SOURCES folder from your DVD and put the one I give you.
It will automaticly install Ultimate, no key needed during setup.

Thank you for posting this, however I can not try it right now because I just ended up making a disc without the unattended scripts. I will try it in the future possibly, hopefully it will help someone else though!

    HP Compaq nx8220

    Hi everyone!

This topic is just great and very helpfull!

I would lik to know which OEM do i need to use for my HP Compaq nx8220 notebook? Is it HP or Compaq. Everest tels me that the OEM ID is HP, but the BIOS is Compaq so I am little bit confused...
I read on the HP support website this are the available upgrades:

Windows XP Home to Windows Vista Home Basic
Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 to Windows Vista Home Premium
Windows XP Professional to Windows Vista Business

Thank you very much for your help!
