Make a second clean install and use the aik. thats the best. i made a complete installation-disc with drivers and my favorite programs on this way and thats perfect. one installation and all i need is there
It should work. If I'm correct vista x64 still uses system32 for native 64bit and sysWOW64 for 32bit compatibility. So sytem32 is correct place to add the files. Dunno why MS uses so confusing naming but that's how it is. Same with registry hacks for 32bit applications you need to add them to syswow64node\software instead of \software (or something like that. too lazy to check correct place).
why wont it work? the only files you really need to activate are PID.txt in sources folder and the xrm-ms file in SOURCES\$OEM$\$$\SYSTEM32\OEM
Yes that's true, the only needed files are PID.TXT and xrm-ms. But with those two files you can only activate Vista, with no unattend instalation, backgrounds, customizations e.t.c.
Hey This is one great forum. I just have one quick question. Does the HP.XRM-MS files in the HP_Ultimate.rar work for a HP Home Premium if I have my own OEM Home Premium key? Thanks for all your help.
This is a follow up question from my previous one. I have a HP that has Vista Home Premium that has its own generic OEM SLP key and the HP.XRM-MS as well as the necessary SLIC in the BIOS to activate it. Can I install Vista Ultimate and use the generic OEM SLP key and the HP.XRM-MS to activate it without any modification to my current BIOS? Or is the SLIC in BIOS locked to Home Premium? Thanks.
