Hello, I am trying to fix a friends laptop and came to the conclussion a total system restore would be the best course of action. however, my friend like most people has lost the restore disk. I have the serial key for Vista Basic. Any ideas where i can get my hands on a vista disk? are they all standard disks and the version ie premium basic etc just decided on what serial key used? All vista dvd's come with every version on it except enterprise, also on OEM:SLP machine it is not just a question of putting in a serial these machine come preactivated read the stickies on how oem activation works. here are disks details use the SHA1 or MD5 hashes to search. P.S. are you sure he doesn't have a recovery partition or on some computer you have option to make recovery disks.
