I would recommend to remove the "del /f /s /q %systemdrive%\*." parts, because the script also removes *.tmpl files (templates) and some *.tmp files in the program files directory should not be deleted (failsafe files).

CHKDSK and Vista Junk .bat

Hey I need help

I'm trying to "CHKDSK C: /f/r" on every boot time and also run the "VistaSystemJunkCleaner.bat" run after CHECKDISK before windows starts up

can anyone help me on this?

Thank you for this -- and for the article on how to shrink a Vista harddrive -- but I couldn't figure out how to run it as admin. Right clicking doesn't give me that option, instead just allowing me to open it.

I got a lot of access is denied results when I ran it normally.

What am I doing wrong?

 

I'm unsure of what this actually deletes is there a list somewhere?

I want it to delete all browsing data except saved passwords and cookies and delete all the temp files and event viewer files, WEI files etc basically every file you can delete without it impairing vista. Also how do you know how much data its deleated is there a way for it show at the end total amount of space recovered?

 

Problem while running cleaner

I'm getting error while running this cleaner error "the process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process." how to clear this.

I used this on my 'New' laptop and was amazed how much junk there was.
I then tried it on my WIN XP desktop. That took ages I could not believe it.
Excellent bat file. Wish I had come across years ago. Many thanks for the production of this file.

Access Denied Messages When Running Script...

I've seen it posted in this thread before, but no one seemed to answer...

When running the bat file, I get a lot of Access Denied messages where files were NOT deleted. I've tried right-click - Run as Administrator, but that didn't help.

If anyone has any ideas how I can the script with full privs and delete everything that should be deleted, let me know.

Before I use window xp, have been used to it.
Now I installed vista, feeling very habits,
I do not know whether are you such a phenomenon?

I have jsut tried downloading the junk cleaner, but when i go to extract the file vista tells me that the file is empty, im sure that it is something that i am doing, can someone help ??
