Using the update option from within VS doesn't work for me. It did for update 2. MSDN is now a mess... for the 15.4 versions, on the "older" version of the download page half of the 15.4 links contain 15.3 still. The new site seems a complete mess... I miss the old msdn.microsoft.com site...
I guess MSDN always have been a market tool first and an information site second, but I very much agree. It is increasingly more difficult to find relevant information. The Win32 desktop info for example is in process to be buried completely. New techs are advertised rather aggressively. I'm not so sure that is a viable strategy. Regarding SDKs and downloads though, I think it's pretty straightforward.
