@911 medic Where is the KG27H-JV9M6-2CXKV-GMP22-****.bat batch file for Compaq from the \OEMBIOS changer installer\OEMBIOS changer\VLK_TO_OEM\homes\ folder? Shouldn't be one?
Possibly...The keys were done by another member for the tool. I can add it, but the hp/compaq serial should work also, depending on the oembios files used. What about the M$ number universal..
Is it necessary to replace setupp.ini, pid.inf from a windows xp sp 2 home french cd (which I have) for the oem conversion to work? The HP/Compaq KEY doesn't work with a Winxp SP3 home French disc only with the Sp2 one. I can't reinstall the os using the oem slp cd, which I would've, but not possible.
what is the readout from the oembios.exe?? You need to dump the slp from your machine. Adding the asus string to dmi wil not activate..it is not a valid address. run oembios.exe to see valid strings in your bios.
That's a different machine(HP dv5000) I want to activate not this Asus one. I was giving this as example because I don't have access to that one and wanted to know what /DVM:string to add. Is the dvm string the field where ASUS_FLASH is? oembios gives me the HP string CRC32 = CD4E1902. I already tried thoes oembios files from oembios repository, but didn't activate. I guess it's due to the french language ed and the specific pidgen.dll & dpcd.dll files required.
really shouldnt matter, we have had issues activating French iso in the past. some of the paths are different. can you use an English ISO and add language pack?? The ASUS_FLASH will not activate if you add it. if one oembios set doesnt activate, none likely will. try to activate it as pro and see if that works.
I just want to know where to look for the DVM string on the HP machine? Where ASUS_FLASH is written (see the pic)? That's why I mentioned asus_flash.
The HP/Compaq key it is for Windows Xp Sp2 ed. and doesn't work with Windows XP SP3. I think this is where my problem is.
It doesn't because of the pid.inf file that all WXP+SP3 have which WXP+SP2 don't. The COA key doesn't work with the retail wxp+sp3 french os I installed, because it is a WXP+SP0 preinstalled OS. The OEM key I dumped from the os prior to formatting the partition isn't good also because it is an OEM:SLP pkey, the HP/Compaq KG27H-JV9M6-2CXKV-GMP22-**** pkey. So I have a retail WXP+SP3 french retail OS (with pid.inf in) that was installed without a pkey, which is possible, that I want to convert it to an OEM HP installation using the HP/Compaq pkey KG27H-JV9M6-2CXKV-GMP22-**** so my friend won't be bugged by authorities because of his non-legit WXP. I can't reinstall the OS using an OEM French +SP3 cd (which I have now) because he won't let me. That would fix this mess, but he's a very difficult person to deal with.
Hi... Will this work for Windows XP Pro SP3 Retail Version? My copy was Windows XP Pro SP3 -untouched (GRTMPFPP_EN) And also, I've read this thread from page 1 to last... And I've downloaded everything 911medic want us to download including all of the OEMBios uncompressed files... From what I've understand, all I need is to run the ff: 1. OEMBios.exe = to view what string I have on my machine. 2. OEMBios Changer.exe = to install the OEMBios string needed. My question is: 1. Is that right? 2. Do I still need to convert my Retail version to OEM version? If so, how? 3. Do you have keys for this retail version of SP3? ^_ _^ Thank you so much and more knowledge... Ignore the question #3... From what I've learn in google... Retail version of Windows XP SP3 doesn't require a product key for a successful installation... I can use the 30days trial and activate my copy offline using these applications...
