Thank you so much urie... I think I'm gonna use HP_DMI tattoo instead of creating PRO->OEM SLP CD... Does this HP_DMI tattoo flashes the whole motherboard bios? Or it just adding SLP to the bios? Thanks and more knowledge to you.
The HP_DMI tattoo tool It is really quite safe, it just adds String to DMI area for SLP 1.0 unlike flashing your bios which can be risky sometimes. Did you run Oembios.exe what was result ? you need to run that first you may already have SLP1.0 string. If have SLP1.0 string or add one, you still need to either use VLK and OEMBIOS changer... or make up OEM SLP cd so you can be activated.
VLK to oem is the main purpose, but it will add the oembios files and key to any install. It will convert between OEM vendors, Retail to OEM, VLK to OEM, and also make a copy of your present files in case some badness happens.. The DMI tools are VERY safe...this is almost foolproof in the way they work.. -Enjoy!!!
hahaha... I've tested the HP_DMI bootcd to know if a person like me can use it... First, I selected option 1 - I think its an option to see if there's already an OEM String Result: Via Vendor / PM266noob model Then, I rebooted and look for what Bios my motherboard has - Phoenix-Award... I'm screwed, because I only saw AMI-Bios (which is also for Award-Bios from what i've read) and the other one is Intel Bios... I take the risk and selected Option 2 - AMI-Award Bios... Then it rebooted itself as the program says... When I look back on the option 1 - Looks promising... Vendor: Hewlett-Fcukard ^_ _^ Now installing untouched copy of XP SP3 on my relative's poor pc... If it was mine, I'll get rid of it already... ^_ _^ Will post result of the OEMBios Viewer/Changer later... Thank you urie and 911medic... And more knowledge to you guys...
Hi to everyone, I have some problems with Server2003 R2 Ent x86 activation. It is running inside Virtual PC machine on Windows 7 x64. I found Dell SLP patched Virtual PC x64 executable (vpc.exe) and if I run oembios.exe inside VM, it correctly shows SLP CRC as Dell-B6F0EEFD. So I downloaded Dell oem bios files and tried to activate with 911medic's generic oembios changer for 2003 R2. But check after restart with MSOOBE always pops activation dialog, so no go. Well, small flaw is that I do not have VLK but RETAIL non-activated installation. Could this be a problem? I know that activator does not activate trial, but what is trial in this case? Is this any non-activated installation? I did not have any VLK keys at hand, so I used generic (not oem) VLK CD's and some retail non-VLK key for installation. I hope my writing at 1am does make some sense . Any ideas anyone? Did somebody already successfully activated 2003 R2? Thanks in advance.
Hi, I understand my problem little better. I have vpc.exe with Dell SLIC table for CRC B6F0EEFD, so it is for XP and not for 2003. Now I need vpc.exe for correct Dell CRC. Instead I am trying to make vpc.exe for HP. Then I will be able to use your HP VLK changer for W2003R2Ent. I extracted BIOS files from your exe, but I do not know for which CRC are your BIOS files. I need that to use correct SLP key for HP (forums] [dot] mydigitallife.net/threads/3339-Server-2003-OEM-SLP-Keys?highlight=99735910). Can you help me with that? Tnx.
HI, Dell OEMBIOS files you linked caused a blue screen at boot. I should probably tried again with clean system. System was quite dirty through numerous tries to activate. Thanks for HP files and CRC. I am still working on how to modify vpc.exe. A lot to read on lots of different threads and few new tools to learn.
Yep, that did the trick . I tried again with clean VM and activation was successful. So, I needed vpc.exe with DELL SLP string, your generic activator on page 1 and DELL OEMBIOS with CRC=99735910 that you posted. These ingredients mixed well . 911medic, BIG tnx again for your help.
Hey. Would anyone happen to know the OEM serial for Windows Server 2003 Web Edition OEM. I would like to install it . I have a VLK edition .Found the HP OEM files but no serial. I have looked all over the stickies and the web but could not find anything. Thanks
Windows Server 2003 R2 Web Edition x86. Yes I found these but they relate to the R2 edition not the original Web Server Edition. The Edition I have has a bad vlk so I would like to get an oem for this version .
