ok I'll try that in a few minutes and report back. but even if it is corrupt how would that affect your program not staying open? what does one have to do with another? regards...

    medic:

I just installed winxp fresh with no service packs. I tried installing sp3 and I get the message that I need at least sp1 to install sp3. I decided to try the changer w/o any service packs and once again the oem.cmd file will not stay open. its starts a cmd page then shuts right down. any other thoughts before I chuck this machine out the window? btw this is the same winxp disk I use exclusively with nlite that works on a multitude of machines with your program. Your program even worked on this machine but for other reasons I wanted to try and do a manual install f Winxp. Don't seem to work doing it manually without the slipstream. regards...

Well I went to deal with this issue today and I simply can't believe how AWESOME this tool is... DAMN it worked on all 6 systems like a charm... I want to thank YOU and everyone else on here that assist with the entire OEM project. Can I make a donation to show my appreciation?

greets urie, and my thanks for all you have done, and shared.

I do not post often, but in reading this thread, your words about 4shared caught my eye.

With what happened to mega-up recently, it occurred to me to wonder where those -millions- of email addresses and names went to...and I think it's pretty clear....DC.

I recently ended up on the 4share site for the first time, by following a link, and when it required me to give personal info (email addy), I felt a little chill, and left. I do not feel I can, in good sense, use such a site any more.

Everyone makes their own choice, of course. I am only suggesting, in courtesy, that with there being many hosters -not- demanding personal info from every single person who connects, the nasty 4share might not be the best "first choice" of upload place. Perhaps RS? Or MF?

I hope you sense that I offer these thoughts with the utmost respect.

thank you again for all you've done for many many of us,

    dozer

    hello 911medic !

I ask a gift of your time...but only a very small one...

Would you give kindness to upload the oembioschanger ("for dummies"..lol.) to another site, which does not demand personal-info like email-addr ?

I notice at last page of thread that urie has kindly re-upped the R2 version for someone....but I did not see mention of upping the 'main' version. It is possible that someone has done it....I admit I have not loaded every single page of thread. Very much pain with only slowww dialup here... :)

thank you medic...and thank you squared for your work, and your generosity of sharing with us all.

    Hello,

I would like to use OEMBIOS changer to make my XP genuine.

However there's a couple of points I would like to clarify:

    1. Is it OK to run OEMBIOS changer in a command prompt within XP or should I be running from WinPE or native DOS?

    2. When I run the cmd from the XP command prompt this is the info that is reported

    Code:
    PID: 76487OEM

Windows XP OEMBIOS Test v1.1/269/106 (C) 2007-2010 severach @ msfn forums
    F:Genuine OEMBIOS.CAT CRC=8B2EBECB
    F:Hewlett-Packard OEMBIOS.CAT CRC=00A1EECB
    F:Hewlett-Packard OEMBIOS.CAT CRC=3BA155E1
    F:HP & Compaq OEMBIOS.CAT CRC=CD4E1902
These Royalty OEM install CD's should preactivate (SLP) on your system.
I'm not 100% clear on which files I need to obtain and would appreciate some direction.

    Thanks!
