OEMBIOS changer is run in XP. You do not need to run from command prompt or dos. Just run the batch file with a double click..The OEMBIOS.exe is to see what string is in the bios. Tito has given you the correct set for the slp string. Put them in the correct folder within the changer and run the batch File.
Thank you for your answer. So if I download the versoin from here:"Windows XP Pro OEM/SP3 Archive (Untouched ISOs)" (sorry can't post links) and I found a sireal from google, do I need to use this tool?
If you have proper slp string in bios & you downloaded corresponding oem iso, then you don't need this tool.
I was scamming Geographically blocked PID. I used OEMBIOS changer. OEMBIOS solve the problem. Thank you for the hard work.
1-You dont need it 2- we have tried to make it work and it is very troublesome. The x64 is does not support the WGA. JUst install and use a serial on the interwebs...
I have a Dell Dimension E520 running XP MCE 2005. The hard drive died and had to be replaced. I do not have the Dell recovery disc(s). I do have a Gateway XP MCE Recovery disc. I was wondering if I could use the Gateway disc to reinstall the OS, then use this tool to change the BIOS and be able to activate it? Thanks.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I've been reformatting/reinstalling xp for years and have always struggled with this issue. Wish I'd have found this thread about 5 years ago. As above, reinstalled XP MCE 2005 with a Gateway REcovery disc on a Dell Dimension. Ran the tool, rebooted, done!
Can somebody tell me what I am doing wrong? System originally used a Dell XP Home disc to install the OS onto a MSI 754 motherboard. Motherboard and hard drive went bad, but the drive was cloned and installed onto a Gigabyte AM3 motherboard. I downloaded the OEMBIOS Changer and the OEMBIOS file set for Gigabyte. The files ended in "_", so that means they are compressed. I then unpacked the OEMBIOS Changer archive and ran the OEMBIOS Changer exe which put all the files into C:OEMBIOSCHANGER. Then I unpacked the OEMBIOS file set and put the 4 files in the C:OEMBIOSCHANGER\Compressed Oembios Folder. Next, I ran OEM.CMD. -Pressed any key to Continue -Selected #5 OEMBIOS changer dialog -Selected #2 Decompress oembios files then change them. Programs does the backup, does its magic, and then tells me to reboot the system. After the reboot, XP unfortunately is still not activated. Obviously, I did something wrong. System had used antiWPA for years, but it got erased with an anti-malware scan. Maybe there is something leftover from antiWPA that is conflicting OEMBIOS Changer? There is a file called SLP.txt that was with the OEMBIOS file set. Was I supposed to put that file somewhere? Is there a need to enter a serial number somewhere? I don't think so, but I am not positive. I know this topic is old, and everybody but me probably knows how to use the tool. So, I am appreciative if anybody can offer any guidance. Thanks.
Thanks for the reply. I thought the OEMBIOS Test was only used to determine what OEMBIOS file set was needed. Is there something else that this program does? After I select #1, the result is: Windows XP OEMBIOS Test v1.1/375/126 F: Giga-Byte Technology OEMBIOS.CAT CRC32=6C0C2E95 F: Synnex Technology International Corp OEMBIOS.CAT CRC32=6EBE3B48 The above OEMBIOS set(s) should preactivate Windows XP on this system. Lines starting with E: are not reliably detected when running under Windows. Thus, I just downloaded the Gigabyte OEM files and placed them in the Compressed Oembios Folder. I have no idea if I have "SLP 1.0 string in DMI area" or if I need "DMI-Boot-CD-for-Award-AMI-Intel-Bios-(Add-SLP1-0-w-o-modding)". Frankly, I have no idea what that even means.
IF you used the AntiWPA crack, you may need to repair install or clean install to get activated. GB strings work well, you can add one with the DMI boot disc if you follow the instructions. There is an option to add the slp with DMICFG...

Hello, I'm trying to use the changer in a XenServer VM. This is the first time I've tried to use the changer in a VM, are there any known issues with this? When I select option 1 the window just opens and closes in an instant, so I ran the exe manually Code: Windows XP OEMBIOS Test v1.1/269/106 (C) 2007-2010 severach @ msfn forums None of the 106 contained OEMBIOS sets will preactivate to your system. ERRORLEVEL 0 Is this result real or is the VM playing havoc? If the result is real, would appreciate suggestions on alternatives, I'm having some intermittent issues with the PV drivers and I want to try running a Windows Update. The system is SP3 at present. Thanks
