Success with OEMBIOS changer from 911medic

Thanks for this great tool. It worked successfully for me changing a VLK install on a compaq notebook into an OEM version.

There was one thing that occurred along the way. The OEMBIOS files I downloaded were not compressed so I placed them into the Uncompressed folder and then ran through the steps in the program. At the end it stated that the oembios.cat file could not be found. I looked into the Oembios files folder, where it appears they are copied to during the run and it indeed did not get copied. So, I did the copy myself and reran it. It was then successful.

This wont change out the correct key for MCE. Only xp pro/home/WHS. I can make one for you.. It would be a couple of days.

If you download the larger tool, there is an oobe checker in the tools folder. You run that after reboot and it will either say activated, or ask you to activate...

You unrar it and run the batch in the small changer I give you. It will install a DELL key for MCE also...

I will eventually add the MCE module to the tool. Some of hte keys not working, I may limit it to the OEMs I know released the MCE 2005..

Thanks for the feedback and I am glad to help...

adding mce support to that tool would make it the ultimate i think... keep us updared as to when you are gonna add it... stuff like that is great for the emergency usb stick
