thanks for this great tool as I have converted a Sony and Dell latop so far without any problems. Howerver, when I tried to do this on a HP DV9000 I can't seem to find the correct OEM Bios files. Some torrents are dead at the OEMbios website for HP Compaq files.

this is the output I'm getting of what possible OEM Bios files:

    F:Hewlett-Packard OEMBIOS.CAT CRC=00A1EECB
    F:Hewlett-Packard OEMBIOS.CAT CRC=06D652A4 (not working)
    F:Hewlett-Packard OEMBIOS.CAT CRC=3BA155E1
    F:HP & Compaq OEMBIOS.CAT CRC=CD4E1902 (dead torrent)

I think the last one might be the correct OEM Bios but can't seem to find that file anywhere on the net.

thanks again for the great program.

funny thing happened while i used your media center edition tool... it worked on my laptop but not my desktop... i have mce installed on both computers... so basically i could boot up but got an error about product activation so i tried a few things but still no success... then i realized my install of mce is from windows xp pro with the media center added in! then i used your vlk to oembios changer with the files from the media center download you posted earlier and it went off without a hitch! so all in all it ended up working on both but that was a odd situation to say the least

The Pidgen and Dcpdll.dll files are different in either tool. This was the difference in your installs. XP Pro/ProMCE..

You haven't a SLP string in Bios.
To see the program answer run oembios.exe in command prompt window.
I have already modded your bios but I'm not sure of the result.
Is your MB a dual bios?

I'm not sure because the first time Award Tool v1.22 show an error "Impossible to open a file", the second time there was a checksum error in the log and the 3°, 4° and 5° attempt it seems to be fine.
    Look the last log:
I have already successfull modded 4 bioses but it is the first time that I have this problem, so I have some doubts.

Have you only modded with the tool, or have you other knowledge of modding for SLIC(manual)??

Just trying to get a feel for your experience with these..

I did manual and tool, the tool worked first try...

I tried to replicate your mod but the hash of the files was different, so
I suspected that you had used another method instead of mine (standard SSV3). :p

About the knowledge of modding, I'm in a good position..... beginner :D

I'd like to learn the manual bios mod technique, can you show me the links for tutorials?
I read hundreds of threads but I can't found them.

Sorry to bother you and for my poor english.

thanks you for the replies and bios mod. XP all activated now after the Bios flash.

well this is the first time I ran into this problem and I guess I will see it more often down the road. At least I know why it does not run.

thanks again for the speedy mod. ;)

The key batches are not complete. I fixed the MCE files and added the option to the tool.

It will now add the MCE serial for the oembios files used..

    Thanks for the effort bigfoot15..:D:D;)
