I have Windows 8.1 Pro that came with my Asus laptop. I want to P2V this so that I can keep using some parts of it after I upgrade to Linux.

I'll use VMWare converter to do the P2V and use VMWare Player/Workstation to run the VM.

My question is what hacks I will need to do to keep Windows 8.1 Pro activated once it is living in the VM. Ideally I'd have a modified BIOS and not have to rely on injectors/loaders.

    All advice much appreciated!

Why don't you rely on KMS then?

I looked at the KMS forum and it seems like those solutions all require require some kind of injection. I'd prefer to have a solution that doesn't require me to trust someone's code (that might contain something malicious).

I'm probably misunderstanding something. It's been a while since I last had to do something like this.

    What am I missing?

    Thanks

there is a section where you can use view the source code an a few prodjects. All open and available for all eyes. IF something malicious was in that, it would have been ripped a new one and removed from MDL long ago.

As far as the closed source tools, same thing. Anything malicious and it is gone from MDL. The tools here are trusted by literally millions.

The only other solution is to pay for your own key or subscription

I should add, only get the tools here from here, other websites are always creating fakes to do exactly what you are worried about.

Also, make sure you are really HERE. forums.mydigitallife.net only anything else contrary to that in your address and you are not here. See the red link in my signature.
