Just wanted to thank everyone involved in the creation of the BIOS hack for VMWare Workstation. I've been running the server version of NT as my home OS since 1994, when I worked at MSFT. I've been stuck on W2K3 Server since 2003, unwilling to move to Vista/2K8, and had planned on making W2K8 Server R2 my primary OS on my new Dell, but I couldn't find the media for it until after I got Win7 HP installed with all my apps. Now I'm very happy with 64 Bit Home Premium - I don't need XPMode as VMWare WS with Unity is much better - and thanks to this thread I now have multiple virtual W2k8 R2 Servers going with the Dell license and even have my old Win2K3 Server environment running virtually too. What a great time to be alive! Now if I could just find a job.

@LaceyBurrows ... & Graphics ... u r very welcome @thebudman420 ... I pulled open script and found small typo error on that exact entry for VM Player A5Dell .... I typed "=" instead of "-" ... fixed it, and re-uploading now. The download link on 1st page will be updated with the new file asap. I am uploading it now, but I have a major internet problem, which has been reported to my provider ... but, I am only getting @ 3kb's upload speed ...so it may take an hour for me to upload this 3.5mb file. Give it an hour and redownload from the 1st page, and let me know if u have any more trouble
Modded Bios: XP-Mode not working in VMWare Player 3.01 ? Can someone confirm this behavior: Using a modded bios with XP-Mode activation string under VMWare Player 3.01 and 1) No parameter "xpmode.enabled": VMWare Player overwrites activation string with zeros, regardless of what was there previosly 2) "xpmode.enabled=TRUE" on Windows 7 Professional: activation string is there as expected (but doesn't need a modded bios anyway) No big problem though
