Searchengine i didn't realise it was possible with restorator i always though it just patched file in original location i,e, you could never get it to ask where file is you want to patch. So if patch is copied to location then run it will patch ?
urie, a restorator ResPatcher.exe will by default patch the file it supposed to patch as long as it is sitting next to it, and the file is the same crc/version if not, it won't patch. but, if switches used, can be forced to ignore version, and be guiless, and be told location example:- "Name_of_ResPatch.exe" -force -guiless -nobackup -dir "%ProgramFiles%\VMware\VMware Workstation\" (that, would run ResPatch, forcing no crc/version check, no screen, no backup, and telling it where to find file)
Thanks searchengine, i went onto Bome forum a bit bare not a lot of posts. downloaded manual exactly the same as the help file thought there would have been more info.
I know you are the best searchengine...I would like to ask you to make ASRock brand for my PC.... will you please?
check your PM for HP2.1 link at present time patcher looks in 4 or 5 default install locations for vmware workstation and vmware player, for 32bit and 64bit file locations, and if found just quietly creates backup and patches, without question ... if nothing found it pops up saying "not found ..aborting". The way it is, I can control how and where it creates backup, and applies specific brands for whatever default location is found .... if I said, choose a non-default location ... I would have a lot of difficulty trying to control all the actions. maybe, I could just make it say "not found...if it is installed, place copy of your vmx.exe in c:\ ..and run me again" ....and pick up your patched exe and backup copy. I think about 95% of the users will be installing in the default locations. @DennyMK® ... how u doin buddy ... to best of my knowledge, there is no "leaked" win7 2.1 bios for Asrock, and not sure if there will ever be one, Asus...maybe closest match for Asrock
No AsRock SLICS, of any version. I dont think they supplied any OEMs either. As such, there is never a SLIC table present either..(in their BIOS)
I noticed Asrock do a Home Theater PC the ION 330HT Nettop but from what i can gleem it doesn't come with an OS.
intesting links, looked at the youtube link and they were showing a bit about overclocking, and just seen one reference to Asrock instantflash from the bios settings page. looking at Asrocks download page, looks like they have several bios updates dating from 19/04/2010 to 23/04/2010 ... no idea if any of them would have slic 2.1
Well, they do have an empty slic table. first time I have seen one in a AsRock bios. I can find no reference of a complete SLIC though. I would like to see a dumped bios from an activated machine. It is possible that the install disc or accessory disc has a bios on it for upgrade.
911medic ... just speculating, but ... empty slic table suggests Asrock have prepared those bioses for OEM install/activation and install /accessory disc updates the missing pieces. clever security approach from Asrock, if that's what they are up to. UPDATE DOWNLOAD LINK 2 - Alternative Patcher - [Updated 24-10-2010] (option added to patch file in non-default location & more bootscreen logos)
