Maybe you should licence it to Vmware & they could just incorporte it into their installer...? Just kdding. sebus
That'd be a great idea Having some smaller issues, vmware wont boot from usb, even though its suppose to work..
This is a great little program. I am running windows 7 32 bit as a guest OS under VMplayer. Ran the program, modded the bios to reflect a Dell machine with SLIC 2.1. I then ran VMware Player and when the Windows 7 booted, I installed the Dell certificate and a Dell OEM key. All activated! Sweet!
I'm sure the OP will re-up it but for anyone looking right now here is the main tool and it works wonderfully! Thanks so much OP! URL to VMBIOS_Selector_v315l in the first post: livinginthegrey.com/VMBIOS_Selector_v315l.exe
Maybe this has been asked before, but I can't find the answer. What is actually patched here? a. VWware is patched: all new _and_ existing virtual machines will see the new BIOS b. VMware is patched: only new virtual machines will see the new BIOS c. actually the virtual machines are patched Probably that can be figured with some BIOS analysing tool. But hopefully somebody figured that out already, and is kind enough to answer the question
Thanks for your confirming this, Tito. It was actually my guess since VMware is obviously not made for BIOS-virtualization, too. Otherwise there would probably be a possibility to do that without applying a patch to VMware itself
