    Why install BIOS tool? Normal installations are fine.

    This mods the vmware bios with SLIC 2.1 and slp string... so that oem copy of Windows can be tested in it without thinking of activation!!

    Hmmm..... see that!! But my external hdd isn't in my hand!! So I cant upload them now!! :(

    Does anyone have the link to download the ROMS as well? It seems to be broken.

    Ditto for me. I need those ROMs too. Please update the links, etc. on the first page.

    I need to activate Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise 64bit under VMWARE and this seems to be the only way. Wish there was a nice, simple Loader for it but I have not found one.

    Thanks dude! I don't know if they will work until I get some free time to set this thing up after this weekend. Hopefully it will! Still, the author should keep his links alive. This is a great thread/project and it needs to be maintained! Well worth it!

    Hello,

    I've used this Multi-Brand Windows Installer last year with the VMWare v7.1.2.14247 everything worked just fine.

    Since I installed Win7 SP1 and updated my VMWare to v7.1.3.14951 it won't works :eek: :(
    Is there a new Bios updater for Win7 SP1 and VMware v7.1.3?

    I'll appreciate any help

    My version is 7.1.4 build-385536 and the bios updater still works.
    Maybe you you are doing something wrong?

    Did you DL the latest patcher from post #1?

    Thank you both for rplying.
    I've unuinstalled and installed VMWare v7.1.3 then I applied directly the old patch 1.2.715 without saving the original vmware-vmx.exe.
    The vmware itself works fine but Win7 ask for activation.

    May you be kind to remind me shortly, how to proceed to patch the VMWare program as well as the VMWare machine.

    Finally I installed VMware Workstation v7.1.4 Build 385546 and downloaded the latest version of patcher from link you gave me (VMBIOS_Selector_v315l in post #477).
    I also downloaded SLIC-ToolKit-x86-x64-(Includes-PKey-amp-Cert.-Backup. Is there a guide of how to use it?

    I presume I do need a certificate from VMWare ROM Collection. The link at the first page is dead.

    So I really appreciate yr help for a VMWare ROM Collection mirror link and the How to use it guide.
