I thought i need VMWare ROM Collection because is at the 1st page o_O

    If I understand well
    1) I've to patch my istalled VMware Workstation v7.1.4 prog in real machine with VMBIOS_Selector_v315l
    2) Check with SLIC-ToolKit-x86-x64-(Includes-PKey-amp-Cert.-Backup) that it did patch ok in real machine and see what certificate you need.

I didn' read yet VMBIOS_Selector_v315l screen but when and what to do on the Virtual machine? o_O

    Regards

    1: Yes

2: No Install your windows 7 in vmware and run slic dump tool kit in virtual machine to check if slic has been added, remember it is virtual machine bios that you have patched.

    Many Many Many TNX urie.
Thanks to yr PATIENCE and advices I got success activating my VMWare Win7.

    However I've some questions
    1) I couldn't have any help on VMBIOS_Selector_v315l. I've typed | and [ENTER] I got invalid selection message. On the other hand I got the about by typing @ and [ENTER].

    2) To patch my istalled VMware Workstation v7.1.4 prog in real machine, I typed SLP got patch success then typed 1 (Acer) and got the second patch success.
What is SLP? Is there any docs relating all these options?

    3) Regarding SLIC-ToolKit-x86-x64_v3.2, I saved "ACRSYSACRPRDCT_V2.1.bin" and Export ACPI Tables. What these files be used for?

    4) Regarding my Virtual machine, sometimes it hanging for a while, I can hear many acces disk. Is there any Preferences or settings to apply to ride out from this hangs?

    TNX AGAIN
    Regards

No typing SLP means patching vmware bios for SLP 1.0 that means XP ,if you wanted Acer slic all you needed to type was 1 and slic 2.1 + slp 1.0 would have been patched to vmware bios meaning you could install vista, windows 7 and xp.
with correct files. from command line in patcher
Just enter @ then return and help file will appear.

Got to go now will chat tomorrow if no busy.

I am probably in the wrong place BUT, I am hoping someone will point me to the right place to get an answer to this.

I am trying to virtualize and OEM Dell SBS 2003 machine. Activation of course kicks in. In my reading all over I am getting the (correct or incorrect?) idea that I can edit the .vmx config file and point the VMWARE vm to use a particular bios file?

I am trying to take SBS2003 off a poweredge 830 and virtualize it on a newer poweredge t310. any help or pointers in the right direction for resources to read how to accomplish this or is it just as easy as downloading the correct bios from here and the pointing the VMX file to it?

Will this work on a linux host machine running VMWARE SERVER 2.02?

    Thanks for any replies.

    Hi,

I got success activating my VMWare Win7.

As I'm building an Unattended Win7 SP1, I may test it on the VMware machine. Therefore, the next installation will not be activated.
Is there any how to Backup and Restore my License-Activation?

    Regards

    TNX for replying ;)

    1) Do $OEM$\$$\Setup\Scripts\OOBE.cmd is launched automaticaly if exists?
Or, I've to add a <SynchronousCommand> inside Autounattend.xml file to launch it?

    2) I'm using ACER OEM. To save place can I delete all MultiBrand_OEM's except ACER and Default?

    3) Last but NOT least, my final Unattended Win7.ISO is NOT to be used on a virtual machine.
Do this extra MultiBrand_OEM affect an installation on a real machine?
It will be possible to register that real machine (after Win7 installation) with a real license?

    Regards

I'm coming from MSFN :) and have some experience with the unattended installs ;)
Don't worry, I will NOT post about oem slp keys or slic activation anywhere else

In fact, I'm using my virtual machine for testing appz and mainly the unattended installs.
In that case, do I proceed with a Backup/Restore VMware License_activation? Or can I run SLIC_ToolKit_V3.2 patch each Win7 RE-install?

    Regards

I never used $OEM$ folder with SLP activation in my unattended installs. All what I use is a demo serial inside Autounattend.xml. And later, on real machine after Win7 installation I activate it with a real license.

Here another link Script used for win7/R2/Office2010 activation info backup/restoration[/URL] from MSFN

    Hi urie,

Sorry for bothering you again

As forseable, I made some modifications inside my Unattended Win7, and had to Install it again for test on my virtual machine (just for the remind, I got success activating my VMWare Win7).
To prevent any pollute when instaling my Unattended Win7 on a real machine, I did NOT add \$oem$\$$\Setup\scripts\MultiBrand_OEM's\ to my \$oem$.

So, although SLIC-ToolKit-x86-x64_v3.2 show Dump OK! Advanced/SLIC Status Validate; Pkey&Cert Cert OK, I have "Windows 7 is NOT activated... Change product key" :( o_O

BTW, my unatteded Win7 have a win7 demo key when my VMWare machine has Acer slp key.

    I'll appreciate any help

As I also mentioned now this discussion has nothing to do with VMware Workstation (Multi-Brand) Bios Installer or virtual machine you should open thread in windows 7 section.
