Hi! It doesn't seem to work for me... I'm running Win7 x64 SP1 and tried to patch VM 8.0.1.528992 using the patcher in the link above (VMware_Man.7z) On startup a message flashes up saying it cannot access x64/libcurl.dll then the program starts and works normally. After autopatching (I used Dell) it reports success and closes but then a popup says windows couldnot overwrite x64/vmware-vmx.exe Indeed it isn't modified. Manual patching fails. I previously used VM7.1.4, here patching worked perfectly. Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance!
Could someone help please. I am trying to install windows XP in VMWare (Dell) so where do I need to install this file to activate it automatically? Thanks
How can I make this tool work? I have installed and patched the files for dell but installing it from a dell cd for XP still asking for a product key. Please help. Thanks
And what Dell CD would that be? Real OEM media would have winnt.sif file, which has the key in it sebus
Did you use Vmware wizard when creating new VM? (probably) You can either fill the key from winnt.sif or if you want automated, then chose will install OS later when creating new VM & just boot of the CD or iso sebus
Things like that would be useful to me since I run VMWare from Linux. I need the HP BIOS if someone would be nice enough to post it.
I am sure you have access to Windows machine? If not, then install Windows in Workstation in Linux, install VMWW8 in this instance of Windows, make the changes, copy the BIOS to Linux (that is if you do not know how to mod it yourself) It is all not that difficult sebus
i have since discovered that it is just THIS one copy of XP thats not working XP home installed just fine Thanx for the reply though
Thanks for this tool! one question, though. The screen shots in the original post show a menu option for a Mac OSX menu unlock, but the latest version does not have this item. I'd like to be able to unlock the Mac stuff with the tool too, so I don't get sideways with modding vmware-vmx.exe with different tools What happened to the menu item for unlocking Mac OSx stuff? thnx
Thanks! I'd really like to be able to fire up some Mac VM's and use the bios tool at the same time. Do you have any test versions that I might try out? I'd be happy to test for you. If not now, I'd be happy to in the future. LB
Current Unlocker does not use bspatch, so it is just better to execute it independent from this sebus
