I had to disable my antivirus software to succesfully have moded bios. I am now runing those virtual machines : - 1 Windows 7 - 3 Windows 2008 r2 (1 AD, 1 Edge, 1 Database) All are fully activated SLIC 2.1. I can now learn in real practice and efficiency Exchange 2010 without time compromise Thank you a lot for your efforts, really.
Works very well with VMware Player 4.0.2 (build-591240) on Windows 7 Ultimate, 64-bit (Service Pack 1). Earlier i used VirtualBox but because compatibility issues with Online Armor Premium Firewall i removed it. After that i use VirtualBox (for old virtual systems) and Parallels Desktop on Mac OSX Lion (hackintosh). Now i can use OEM Windows XP without my key from COA sticker and manual activation. Also there is no need to reboot to OSX when i need to work on virtual system. Thanks a lot!
VMware Workstation 8.0.3-703057 has same BIOS as 8.0 (bios 339). (It won't be at the same hex adress, so the patcher might not work; but you can edit your vmx config file and put the bios440.filename line with the modded BIOS). (In another thread, I indicated that the developer preview, which will become VMwW 9.x, has a newer BIOS)
I just used it on VMWare Workstation 8.0.3 build-703057 with a copy of HP OEM Starter, and now has a genuine logo and says activated... Thanks alot for the great tool..
After using this on the latest 8.0.4.744019, I get the following message, even after restoring the files I backed up Its completely fubar'd my VMware installation. Repair of installation didn't fix anything, now I am going to try completely uninstalling it. Code: VMware Workstation unrecoverable error: (vmx) SSLLoadSharedLibrary:Failed to load library libeay32.dll:193 The rest of the message is just diagnostic file location n such Not to mention the link in the first post doesn't even match the file hashes stated.
It might have, but do you have an idea what/how the program actually does? If you did spend the time to figure it out, then you would have no problem sorting it easily sebus
Ive been using the program for quite some time through various VMware releases. I am pretty familiar with how it works, and how it doesn't. Doesn't change the fact the download link for the latest version (which I thought I had) in the first post is 404 Doesn't change the fact the mirror download link in the first post is for a completely different version
Thanks for that - works ! But you have to add manually with textedit the following line to your .vmx file(s): bios440.filename = “OEM_Bios.rom” or bios440.filename = “6006.binres” (e.x.p-754035)
Or just replace resources in the .exe ... with XN Resource Editor (hence the binres extension!) sebus
@ kiwi, I would do as sebus suggested that way you don't need to modify .vmx file for every virtual machine.
