    @searchengine:

    MS VIRTUAL PC 2007 (x32/64bit) - Tester #2

    Confirmed Fully Patched "Virtual PC.exe" with HP 2.1 Slic, then unpatched. No errors.

    For Virtual PC 2007 x64 on Windows Xp x64

    Works perfect..;):cool:

    @highspeedmac ....

    CHEERS BRO!!!! ....thanks for testing another project :cool: ...should be fine for SP1 version x64 also ... worked on SP1 x32.

    btw.....I had a brain fart "vpc.exe" patching just applies to Windows Virtual PC and should not be in that patcher or 1st Tester ....been looking at Windows Virtual PC too, and got some files, and my brain mixed up :D

    No problem, very soon no one will have to Manually patch any VM apps. LOL, your going to cover them all..:D Another good job..

    Also for any one interested in knowing. No you can not run Windows Xp Mode within a "Windows 7" VMWare Virtual Machine....See Screen cap Below.. Here's the worst part, "You would think the Installer would have failed to install Both, Xp Mode & MS Virtual PC once it knew the system didn't have what it needed.. LOL, Nope, installed it, then said it won't run in the Machine.. LOL :D

    Thank you for this. So if we want to add SLP 1.0 and SLIC 2.1 we need to run this twice once to add SLP 1.0 and a second time to add SLIC 2.1 right?

    @amires ...

    If you are installing Xp in vmware, then just select from 1-60 (SLP1).
    If you are installing Vista or Win7 in vmware, then just select from A1-A10 (Slic2.1)

    No, from what I understand, you will just end up with Slic 2.1, this patches VMware with one version/Brand of slic at a time. So you can Have either a 1.0 Slic or a 2.1 Slic.

    But for example, Hp slic 2.1 contains 2.0 & 1.0. ;)

    Edit: LOL, searchengine, we posted that at near the same time.. Wait looking at the time.. I was way late.. :D

    Thank you for your replies but it doesn't make sense suppose I have two virtual machines Windows XP Professional and Windows 7 Ultimate. Do I need to patch vmware with SLP 1.0 when I want to run Windows XP and repatch it with SLIC 2.1 when I want to run Windows 7? Why can't we have both SLP 1.0 and SLIC 2.1 at the same time?

    amires ...

    There are 10 Slic 2.1 brands you can patch at this time, so if you select one of those 10 to activate Win7 and are happy to have XP run with the same brand you selected for Win7 .... then you do not need to patch again for SLP1 (it's included).

    If you want XP and Win7 to run with different brands, then you would need to select individually.

    There are 60 options for XP; but only 10 options for Win7 at this time, until more slic 2.1 bios files are leaked.

    Thank you for the explanation. It makes sense now. So SLIC 2.1 is backward compatible with SLP 1.0 if both are using the same brand.

    @amires ...

    menu A1-A10 Slic2.1...
    activates Win7; Vista; & XP for those brands as 2.1 is backward compatible with 2.0 (Vista) ... and SLP1 is added for XP.

    menu 1-60 SLP1...
    activates XP only ..(just has SLP1)

    problem installing Windows 7

    VMware 7 running on 64 bit Windows 7 using untoch Windows 7 ISO.

    I was able to install Windows 7 using

    00 = Vmware
    A4 = Dell
    A7 = Lenovo

    but getting error with other vendors

    "Windows could not apply the unattend answer file's <DiskConfiguration> Setting."

    Does anyone else have that problem?

    TIA.

    NiteCrew ...

    I run a 32bit o/s so I can't even try to reproduce your error.

    I tried all slic 2.1 files in vmware v7 before removing it, wasn't good on my PC ...but all was fine in 32bit.

    A few earlier posts say fine with vmware v7 ..but think they were 32bit.

    But highspeedmac runs 64bit and had no issue with HP slic2.1 in vmware v7RC ... and I am not 100% sure, but think he is running v7 final now, without any slic2.1 issues.

    That error looks more like a disk partition error problem .... if your vmware machine is setup as SCSI ... changing it to IDE may solve it.

    i tried it on vmware 7.0 with Dell SLIC 2.1 (A4). My host is 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate. My virtual Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit activated perfectly.
