    sebus & highspeedmac .... welcome :D

    ..... bigfoot15 very kindly messaged me fewdays ago with an additional 10 slp1 mods (making 70 total) ... think that's the last of slp1 collection ... and thought, might as well have them all included. :)

    randomchaos26 ...

    yes, couple of file paths tweaked, not much, when I get bigger collection of slic 2.1's I will completely redo the batch, when updating the full menu ... still thinking about 8.3 DOS names too. :):cool:

    So does this tool insert a SLIC'd bios version 295 or 314? And if you choose 00 option which "default" bios does it put back? Version 295 from 6.5.3, or 314 from 7? Or did you happen to make it detect what version your running and use the appropriate bios version?

    Also, can you choose a bios with both SLIC and SLP?

    Restorator Patcher does in fact replace BIOS resource inside the vmware-vmx.exe with existing in the 7zsfx executable VMBios_x32_64_Installer.exe pre-prepared BIOS 2.95 with selection made by the user.
    It does NOT do any "magic" of actually patching the BIOS resource itself on-fly

    Whichever way, it works on anything.
    Somebody does not like it, do not use it.

    I am happy with it

    "I have exactly the same issue. If I use the Dell slic Windows7 x64 will install fine using the standard VMWare settings however if I use the HP slic it fails with the disk config error and I have to change the VHD to IDE to get it to work. I would not advise using IDE as I found the 7 install took much longet than when in SCSI mode.

    Strange indeed..

    Could it be that the Dell slic is smaller than the hp slic and the hp slic is overwriting some required part of the bios?"

    Nope. I installed VMWare 7 on a fresh Windows7 x64 build nothing previously installed.

    I haven't given it any more thought as the dell slic works fine.

    @breeza ...

    yeah, that's pretty weird ... I didn't get any IDE/SCSI issue when I tried vm v7; but I'm back on v6.5.3-185404 ... v7 just runs heavy on my PC ... I'm running Win7 Ultimate x32bit host ... I'm gonna renew my PC in the next 3/4 weeks ... then I'll probably try Win7 Ultimate x64bit ... and give vm v7 a re-try.

    Thanks for checking out the bios. I think I found the problem for why it didn't work. I'm pretty sure I didn't copy back the edited rom file that I made. Will attempt another try tonight. I have Win 7 pro on order so I will be able to test them once I get it.

    Yes, My goal is to make the 22 bioses both slic 2.1 and 1.0. I was also wondering which bios to use; 295 or 314. Maybe just make them all. Is there any benefit to the 314 bios?

    Does vmware 6.51-6.53 boot with the 314 bios?
    I saw the xp mode one but I can't remember if there was enough room in the bios to input the string. Its very long. Will look later tonight.

    @bigfoot15 ...

    I tested 3x vm versions with modded bios's 295 and 314

    versions:- 6.0.2-59824 ... 6.5.3-185404 ... and v7

    all 3x versions ... work and activate with either 295 or 314 bios

    glad to hear you are gonna work on modding the 22 leaked win7 slics ;)
