is there an optimized setting for virtualizing in workstations 8? i'm virtualizing OSX 10.7.4 and it lags, i've already assigned it 2Gb of ram out of my 8 Gbs. and when i go full screen, it's center in the middle with lots of black space around. people say i need to install vmware tools, but it keeps giving me a can't download error.
im not familiar with MAC.. but with Windows.. what i do for better performance: - have a separate HD specifically for VMs - format that HD with NTFS, and largest sector size - leave the recommended RAM settings alone.. i know it's tempting to increase .. but it actually slows down your VM. - definitely install VMware Tools.. it's like night & day.. the performance hit w/out Tools is tremendous. - of course.. disable/uninstall all unnecessary software/services/graphics/themes/etc ..
You should download darwin iso with vmware tools. Mine working fine. Type on google "darwin.iso with vmware tools". Sorry, my first post, I not allowed post with links and my english is $hit.
