I want to set up pxe server.

i want to deploy multiple os.(xp, w7, ubuntu, debian or bootable images like hirens, minipe, thiny linux acronis ghost etc.) on diferent workstations.

I allready have windows 2003 server installed not on domain i have it on workgroup(stupid dont ask).

As i figured it out i need to set RIS.

and i need to know when i deploy os-es to these machines do they need to be a member of domain on win2003 server.

If they do im gona go with a linux pxe server on virtual machine runing on same 2003 server.

    Thx

No offense, but why use that many different OS's? If you absolutely NEED another OS, make it Ubuntu for the interface for netbooks, perhaps.o_O

It depends how you set your DHCP.

You can use PXE in Proxy DHCP mode (so it replies on port 4011)
Or DHCP can send the boot file (ie. pxelinux.0) address, in which case you do not even need PXE server on the network
