I had the same problem on my Acer laptop, W7 reporting missing driver for ''coprocessor''. I tried method described by ''quo888'' but it didn't work for me, W7 just didn't want to install the driver. So I went on Acer support site and downloaded Windows Vista SP1 Nvidia Chipset drivers for my laptop. I ran the installer, chose to install SMU and SMBus drivers and voila! No need for compatibility mode or anything. I hope this is helpful for someone with the same problems.
