Thank you, will give it a go tomorrow after work and see how you did I would tonight but I've got much bigger fish to fry atm lol
Interesting. I'm always a sucker for integration stuff. I'm curious why you chose to use extra directories for Enterprise versions? The contents are the same except for the ei.cfg which is set to [editionid] Enterprise Could you not accomplish this using just the normal sources\ folder and a sourc64\ folder? This brings up a recurring issue, has anyone been able to make a double-source-folder setup that will successfully do an upgrade with the 'keep programs and settings' option? I think pilot and I are both fairly curious...
Looks like nothing more than a dummied down script of the manual steps. In all honesty it's genius but I don't think you can upgrade using this except for the x86 copy. x64 upgrade still would be a no go.
It is true, I preferred to leave the Enterprise versions separately if modifications to the script I affecting them separately. Sorry, but I do not understand what you tell me with what I have marked in bold, could you explain?, thanks.
Nice Boops.. but I do think exporting images to a new install.wim is a better idea to get a smaller wim. Export to a new install2.wim (then delete the original install.wim) and rename install2.wim to install.wim..
In 8.1 they have severely hampered the upgrading using the "Keep programs and settings" option (full upgrade) It seems to only work if you either have no ei.cfg (enter the key manually) or you have an ei.cfg set to a specific EditionID. Pilot and I have been trying to figure out ways to enable both x86 and x64 Full upgrading on the same AIO disc. It is proving challenging. I haven't messed with doing /installfrom stuff or hex editing. Those are probably the only ways to actually accomplish this task. If you're kind-of a noob with signed exe modding, like me, it gives that ugly yellow border warning. I'd be really curious if someone with some talent could make an AIO that doesn't require key entry that will allow x86 and x64 upgrades... Preferably someone smarter than me
can that explain why - possibly - tela-wtever-guy is saying the upgrade path isn't possible in RTM until GA? not tryin to feed any egos, but that sure kinda fits in with redmondmags article.
Likely not. The handling of the UpgradeMatrix.xml in the Windows 8.1 setup files is drastically differant than that of the Windows 8 setup.
Hi, I need help with the script (WinAIOSelector.cmd) I am using the nb_windows_8_1_x64_dvd_2707351.iso and nb_windows_8_1_x86_dvd_2707475.iso, I can't get windows media center selection. I have tried to change the index files but it does not help (from 1 to 3) what am I doing wrong. Aksel
Looks like the script skips the windows media center section, when I select 123567, it comes out as 1256.
Ok, then what you do is, put new images win and when you run the script, you must say "yes" put "Y" to the question "Reindex images ..." When you reply to this question, establishes the sequence of the options. It is important to do only once. Removes of the folders, C:\WIN81AIO\X86 and C:\WIN81AIO\X64 and C:\WIN81AIO\W81, the images "WIM".
