Still no luck - uninstalled removeWAT, uninstalled loaders, reinstalled and launched daz loader in different modes - nothing. I have an Asus and tried the variois Slic/Cert and Keys.
Is anyone else noticing that when Windows is telling you that there are "important updates", the WAT update is not automatically checked off? All the other ones are automatically checkboxed but the WAT is not... what could this mean?
you know, with this just starting I'd love to see the bandwidth used to serve this forum thread. Hell I signed up just cuz of it.
No no, i was thinking that WAT could possibly make it non-genuine. But i already installed it. I did at 02/16/2010. lol
Umm... you didn't even read the article I cited. It says Microsoft will check every 90 days (at least) for cracks and activators with their ever-increasing technologies, which means Daz' loader will eventually be picked up by them. Who knows, they may even eventually be able to detect BIOS mods. And if you have a genuine Windows copy, why are you posting on this thread? Some of us don't have the money to feed the M$ greedmonster. Oh, and no we can't just choose not to install it. Sure, we can for NOW... but it will be a mandatory element of the W7 Service Pack 1, which itself will either be mandatory or very important to install.
just tested to install this update on Microsoft.Windows.7.ULTIMATE.x64.Integrated.December.2009.OEM.DVD-BIE. This pc has Intel mobo without any ability to inject slic's. Not sure what activation feature is on BIE-DVD but pc is still runnig and pass validation.
hmm, how would I know if I have the right combination, I'm hearing dell certificate won't work? I'm using Dell Cert from Opa tool and bios modded, should I be worried?
I did read the article and I am still unconcerned. I have supplied somewhere in the neighborhood of 2500 Bios mods to users and I have a bios mod on my test PC. And since I am a contributing member of this Forum, I have every right to post here. If you read the article you would notice that they did the same thing for XP and Vista and the fixes for those two OS's are still working. The loader by Daz is working with the WAT update installed and I'm fairly certain that if that changes a new version of his loader will take care of that. As for Bios Mods, I can't see M$ jeopardizing hundreds of thousands of Legitimate PC users to block a few thousand. So, Posting articles that contain the same info that has already been posted all over these forums to scare people is just idiotic in my opinion. Especially when they are exagarated claims. To my knowledge there aren't anywhere close to 70 different activ*tion work arounds.
Got it this morning It was unchecked when I went to update as well. I updated, rebooted, it came back stating there was one important update - duh. Right-click - Hide Update. Ding, fries are done!
check your win product key. if it ends on -00006 then key was for Acer. If you used Dell's key then producr id ends on -00400. I also used Oopa tool and was surprised that it used another key.
Ask yourself this...How long will it take for someone to upload a WAT free SP1 after it's release? In two words. Not long. So stop worrying guys and just pass on the KB971033 update for now.
Well, sorry, I've hardly got time to read through 222 pages (an insane number of posts) to see if this has already been posted, so I just posted it in hopes to provide the information to people who may not have seen it; I wasn't trying to "scare" anyone.
True, I may have jumped the gun. But it's still nice to provide the information here and just talk it over. Anyway, I apologize.
