Wow, things have got interesting once again. Just like the time when Windows 7 first RTM'ed. Past few months have been pretty boring.

 

For now it could be optional but they will probably incorporate it in SP1

 

as long as there is potential for false positives due to this update i would have to disagree.

 

No because if something should even happen on the day you can bet I will have a fix for it released.

They mention boot loader modification, if they mean the Windows one then theres nothing to worry about and even if they mean any boot loader modification I already have a method done and working on version 1.7.8 of my loader that doesn't require any changes to the system

Well if my new method will still work once WAT goes live is one thing, but I do have multiple idea's to work around some things I suspect might be an issue. Then again I think nothing major will happen with the loader system and the real heat will be on other applications such as ChewWGA and RemoveWAT which I suspect will both have to put out a new version to combat WAT by either disabling it or patching it.

For the time being it's all rumour and speculation, we will see what happens once it's officially released and then work from there

I also highly doubt that M$ will deactivate Bios modded systems as long as you have matching Certs/keys with the MoBo. Ex: A Dell Motherboard + Dell Cert + Dell Key. As long as they all match it should be fine. I might suspect that systems with bios mods that are like HP Motherboard + HP Cert + Dll Key might get deactivated because of the key not matching company Certs or mobos so if you are modding your bios make sure that the slic is the same company of the motherboard you have, for example do not integrate a Asus slic into lets say a HP motherboard or any other missmatches like that and you should be fine.

I figured Id just say I tried WAT with Daz's loader and its still activated after rebooting.

 

WAT isn't online yet, so the WAT client hasn't downloaded any definitions yet to detect anything. Wait till Tuesday then we'll see. I'm pretty confident Daz's loader will not be detected.
