Since installing KB971033, getting deactivated, and then bios modding. I have had zero issues. I can confirm DAZ Loader 1.7.7r works AFTER installing the update on a ASRock mobo. I used the ASUS cert/slic/and key.
My concern is this, all of these installs where WAT did not deactivate have sent the information to MS, now MS has 90 days to review and adapt and I suspect that the true test will be in 90 days when the next set of signatures is used to validate windows.
I had bios mod, ASUS cert/slic/ and key for ulrimate and was flagged as not genuine yesterday. After uninstalling KB971033 and changing the key I had to validate again and passed. I'm wondering if the ASUS ultimate key in this forum is now also blacklisted. Pain in the ass, I figured since I am bios modded I wouldn't have a problem and installed the update., and I was fine for a day or so. Then out of nowhere not genuine. I hope I don't have any problems here on out.
Now the wait begins.... All my 3 installs came out as Genuine... All had the BIOS Mod to SLIC 2.1 ...with working certificates & keys.. let us see what happens now...
That's odd (well maybe not) what mobo, bios, mod method was used? Think we need more info before blaming the key...
Probably not down but it could be busy/overloaded. I wouldn't worry about it for a while. With a Bios Mod it should validate without a problem as long as you are NOT using the original Lenovo key that got Blacklisted.
They wo'nt because to many real machines use the keys to much money to change it now if he used the right slic 2.1 and a matching cert and key he would be good
Just a heads up, Asus does make Barebones Desktop PC's and they have the _ASUS_NOTEBOOK SLIC just like the Notebooks.
so it looks like they are now looking for bios mods? reading the response from the person on the ms forum thats sure what it sounds like, if so wow this will really suck. still dont see how they can be sure its not oem. as many have said companies like dell and hp have used asus and other companies to buy boards from all the time
