This updates, can be dangerous for those who have SLIC 2.1 and Windows 7 activated with a SLP key and certificate??
The reason why it was deactivated in Pjaki's case was because he restored the bootsector which disabled the loader
You are absolutely wrong, they dont hav to afraid..... Bcoz there are so many legal Users...... I Tried Orbit30's ULoader 8.0.0 for a change,Before Restart it is activated But After a restart the same thing Happens...
I looked inside it seems to query if the computer is a dell or a toshiba and so on through WMI... I think thats just normal for updates
[offtopic] Could anyone please send me the leaked HP MAK Key via PM, Sorry for the interruption.......
I just installed the WAT update and rebooted. I'm running Daz's loader 1.7.7r and upon reboot I'm still activated! Tested it on an old Dell Insprion laptop.
Well, at least you had the fun of learning how to use the encryption API's, so it wasn't an entire waste of time.
Encryption API's? Far from, I come up with my own encryption and decryption functions so that nothing can be reproduced Theres just some people who worry about WAT too much and the only way you can really get caught is if you have a bad SLIC placement which any loader or driver can give you. How to fix that? The user just needs to try the other modes, they exist for a reason...
I think this is fake, seriously. Lenovo key still works Old Vistaldr2 still works RemoveWAT still works. I think it may be some kind of fake to take advantage of the WAT hype, or just some updates to the internal files (M$ spyware!)
I'm surprised about the fact that the blacklisted lenovo-key and even vistaldr2 still work... I agree it's obv a fake.
Yep also think it's fake. If it doesn't even detect unencrypted loaders than MS has really no point making something like wat, than it's just a waste of time. Could it be that MS intended to leak this to make us think wat is just nothing to worry about so we arent prepared when it's really released? Or am I getting to paranoid now?
I have been looking at it in an offline virtual machine, it doesn't seem to do much at all... in fact that's just the problem, I would expect it to do something. For the time being I would advise people to avoid the update and just wait to see what happens with the official ones. That is unless you just install the update in a virtual machine or something just for testing purposes.
