i defo not the person to be asking about that you lost me on WinHEX and smbios i know about the startup were you get your CMOS features and date and time settings in there i would change it there to be honest but do not know if that is 100 percent correct
Your all busted now. Rumor is that one of the 70 detection signatures is having a cookie from this forum.
here you go post 455 and what i was saying was you could go and buy a OEM copy of win7 today and put it on a old motherboard but that would be legit so couldnt have WAT checking BIOS date surely ?????
you are still missing the point here. you still are talking about oem coa NOT oem slp which is what we are talking about here. oem, coa can be used on any hardware.
How long does is take after instaing WAT for it to phone home? Does it try to phone home right after you install it? I installed it, rebooted and nothing happened then I uninstalled WAT.
oo yeesss silli me i am really worried about this 90 day check though think i will be on this forum alot for the fixes
The question is do they even want to. Do they really, *really* want to kill off each and every thinkable possibility there is to use Windows without a license. Of course the only ones who can give a definitive answer to this question are the top-bigwigs at Microsoft since they are the only ones who know what kinds of agendas, both official and non-official, the company really persues. But luckily there are a few things that might help in making at least an educated guess, like for instance this little excerpt from a December 2007 interview with M. Sievert, pertaining to Vistas ServicePack 1: "SP1 will include updates that will target those exploits and disable them." Thats what he said. In 2007. Well did SP1 actually disable any BIOS Mods, a.k.a. OEM BIOS Exploits? No. Did it at least disable the SLIC Loaders then? No. Then came SP2. Quite some time has passed since SP1, giving them yet more time to implement significant changes if they wanted to. Did SP2 disable any BIOS Mods? No. But surely the SLIC Loaders should be out of the game by now? Nope, no problems with the SLIC Loaders either. Then came Windows 7, (some would rather call it VistaSP3), where they had the opportunity to create an entirely new activation model from the ground up. So, were there any significant changes to the activation model? No. Was there anything that 'disabled' BIOS Mods? No. Was there at least anything that 'disabled' the SLIC Loaders? No. And these are cold hard facts, mind you, not speculation. The remaining question: 1+1 = ?
so then this backs up phazors reply M$ are here on this forum they do know all bout the loaders and all the exploits could easily get rid of them so why dont they?? cos they would rather have the pirates using there windows rather then lose them all toghter?????? but if that is the answer why i mean why would they want pirates using there system they have not paid a penny towards M$ and probs dont even plan to so just makin M$ lose money surely they would want only to keep the paying customers???? and and 1+1 = 6
Hey Guys please keep in mind that M$ has to walk a fine line with WAT. Yes they can check for Bios dates and try to disable Bios mods, but this would require a massive co-ordination with all the OEM's to make sure dates of all motherboards are on record. Suppose even 1 or 2 slip through and valid customers become non-genuine?? Hello WGA all over again and hello class action suit #2. All the stuff we talk about here is great in theory and would probably work but M$ must limit false positives with WAT at all cost. M$ has also had image problems with Vista and they seem to have now finally came back into good light with W7. I don't think they would risk pissing customers off at this point.
this is excatly why they going about it slowly to start with maybe??? then after few month go in hard??? and could get rid of alot of users with dates of motherboards for instance some people have old motherboards but OEM slp installed on them wich is not possible so straight away would come up as pirated.
