I thinkl for Vista there was not that much interest for bios mods and loaders compared to Win7. Many people liked XP or Vista so I think there was not too much piracy there. Maybe with Win7 it got out of hand and they want to stop it all cost?? all scared now
i wouldnt say piracy is out of hand with win7 id say there more legit users of win7 IMO most of the pirates are still on XP thats fullproof system for now they will not update until they have too
ill just end up going with technet if it gets out of hand. question with technet though is do those keys expire if you do not renew the subscription? i mean do they remain working after the year is up? or do they get killed off if you dont renew. they have a 28% off technet right now and honestly i may grab a sub or two to have plenty of keys for the family members. but does anyone know about the keys expiring? thanks also if i get a technet and say give my mom one my sister one but NO ONE outside of family that would use it for anything questionable would they kill the key you think? no one besides family would have the keys. would this work?
Youre thinking in the right direction... Look at the big picture. Microsoft is a pure commercial enterprise. They are not doing this to give you a great operating system, what they want is making money, lots and lots of money. And to accomplish that they have to think in totally different orders of magnitude. Piracy? A drop in the bucket. They make BILLIONS piracy notwithstanding. And why? Because right now they have a quasi-monopoly and the biggest share of the market. But what if that ever changed? Who would they be selling their stuff to if the world realized that they could have all of it for free if they just stopped using Microsoft products and supported the free alternatives instead? Like i said, such a revolution could never be stopped anymore. Users attract software producers and software attracts users. The circle closes. Hence as long as the people keep using Windows, one way or another, there is little to fear for Microsoft. But they certainly do fear that certain 'spark' that might light everything on fire and initiate said revolution...
jsut look at the Bios mod forum and I think there was not as much interest there with Vist comared to Win7. I guess M$ wants to slow that down a little bit.
not that i disagree but i can say there are still people to this day i know who use xp instead and they are def not legit users...
oo yess its only because of the software that people use windows and most games work with windows as well people always having trouble in linux using some games java flash player etc i think i gotcha so if microsoft make windows very easy to use and have a monopoly on the software market then microsoft get to keep rolling in all the money from the other things they do as well
tested this on the system i was testing wat on and i ran the slic toolkit and it did the same thing!!!! on a lenovo based cert and key it shows all b's.... ill post a screen when i get home. this is very strange indeed i thought it was just a fluke on that system though!!!
That is odd. I know MAK keys look like that but I guess M$ is trying to change the OEM string as well for some reason. I will check that out come Tuesday when the final WAT patch is released.
WATU is the first step towards a KMS-like activation system for home users. If your system is OK after 90 days you may keep on using it normally. If its not OK then the system will be put in monitoring-mode, phones home whenever you go online and be 'fixed' accordingly...
Looks like Daz is working on all possible solutions considering all those gossip about WAT. I am sure he will come with a good solution. Waiting for Windows 7 Loader v1.7.8... Wow, 101 users (35 members + 66 guests), all waiting for news... EDIT: I am currently using Orbit30 Win7 Activator RTM 4.0 for my Windows 7 x64. I want to uninstall it and use Windows 7 Loader 1.7.7r (Daz) instead. What should I do? Please reply soon.
