So I'm assuming the big question is what happens to people with a BIOS mod where everything matches (for example someone with a Dell motherboard, Dell cert, Dell SLIC and Dell OEM SLP key). If they pass, it's progress, but it's still problematic because what will people with an Intel/Gigabyte/MSI/etc motherboards do? (assuming I'm correct in my assumptions) So far, the Ultimate OEM SLP keys are available from Acer, Alienware, Asus, HP, Lenovo (re-released after blacklist), Samsung and Sony. So, someone with an Intel/Gigabyte/MSI/etc motherboard for example, can mod bios and add a SLIC table, but there are no GIGABYTE/Intel/MSI keys. so if you have a Gigabyte motherboard, you can add for example an HP SLIC, HP cert and HP key, but then WAT can see that the motherboard is Gigabyte. (if that's how it works) There are Gigabyte/MSI/BenQ and other certs available, but no matching keys. In other words, what would be better - using a Gigabyte cert for a Gigabyte motherboard but with a different key, or using the same cert/slic/key (of a different brand) on a Gigabyte motherboard?
to beat it obviously, it may become mandatory in teh future so might as well test your luck and help the community better prepare itself.
I have the Dell P4K27 key installed with a Modded BIOS and Dell cert. I'll do a quick backup, install WAT, and report back.
just tried to uninstall wat and reinstall and it still doesnt seem to call out again. i am using the dell key and i have not got the message yet.
cooljay: WAT makes it permanent non genuine. I guess only a reinstall or a backup would solve it. - correct me if I may be wrong.
