I say WAT is LAME.... My asus netbook running win7 professional build 7600.win7_gdr.091207-1941, bios-modded with asus 2.1 slic using andyp's method and installed with asus cert and product key, with bios dated october 2009, PASSED with flying colors when validated online. However, i dare not validate my bios-modded asus notebook, vintage 2004 manufacture, for obvious reasons. Lol....
Something of interest here. You are very correct Phazor they do monitor this website. I know it. There is a place called Port Townsend its a small arty farty joint over the Puget Sound from Seattle and Redmond. A lot fo MS employess go there to unwind and get away from the strain of MS. They also get drunk very very drunk and well they say things. Nothing that would have them charged by sharing top secret info but they are human and hey get pissed off as well as the next person Quite amazing what you can learn from a weekend in the pub in Port Townsend Cheers
seriously i think this thread should go away and we have one that simply states what type of mod and pass or fail thats all nothing else. admin's are you listening?? why give out any more info than is necc i know im not posting any machine id's here no way. if the bios mods pass now do we think they will continue to pass later?? imo i think so.. if worst case comes to worse and the date is the issue we change the date. not so hard
10000% agreed people stop posting all this info PLEASE... we have given them way more than they need already
i don't get what all the fuss was about!! ive successfuly validated my laptop with daz's loader and all is genuine!! and also validated my desktop and netbook both with bios mods!! and all is good! i thought the whole purpose of wat was to detect non genuine windows??..
yeah i mean people are just giving themselves to ms with machine id's and all the info they are posting. that info may even help in further additions to wat. please stop!!! if you have a problem we can have a thread for that maybe or start a single thread. if the post a couple pages is correct they even collect the hard drive SERIAL NUMBER they could even use that info.. etc it seems this collects a LOT of info looking at the post a couple pages back. kinda scary and imo i think a bit of a invasion
you need to run mgadiag and click copy and paste it to a notepad file neptune something is def wrong somewhere since you threw a code.
Yes you are right it is it's purpose but if you would watch thread for a while you would notice that people that have posted that are not genuine, they posted some time earlier before that said that are fine at first. Looks like it has a little delay Also 3rd or 4th thing about no screenshots/msdiag
For people who don't want WAT to run every 90 days, you can disable the scheduled task. Run "taskschd.msc". Goto Task Scheduler Library -> Microsoft -> Windows -> Windows Activation Technologies. Double-click on ValidationTask, goto Triggers Tab and click on edit and uncheck Enabled. Repeat the above step for ValidationTaskDeadline.
no delay if you used the one from the ms website and click continue to validate. only for the ones who used the pre release version they had to wait for it to call out. now using the web site will trigger it to kick in to check. i checked the event viewer and each time i validate (i tested 4 times on one machine once for each browser) you can see the logs for each time i did it.
Thanks. Mine look ok?: Windows Activation Technologies--> HrOffline: 0x00000000 HrOnline: 0x00000000 HealthStatus: PASS Event Time Stamp: 2:17:2010 00:25 WAT Activex: Registered WAT Admin Service: Registered EDIT: by the way, I'm running a FSC laptop with modded bios (FSCPC_V2.1), cert is FSC_V2.1_Cert.xrm-ms, key is Acer (FJGCP).
I got it to validate, I did a system restore to the point before I used removeWAT and now it works. Even when I uninstalled removewat it still wouldn't validate me. How odd. Anyhow, All good here!
