Kb9711033 Mother board asus p62 Hard bios mod slic asus 2.1 Key not asus kb9711033 installed Windows 7 is still actavated
I dunno... I used ChewWAT v0.9.7 if memory serves. Windows Updates lists no updates. I forced it - no updates. Maybe they're just in "record" mode, and will derive their SOP from the data they gather. Testing may have been bad. I'm just going to wait and disallow KB971033 and see how long it goes. My machine backs up nightly, so I can do a file or bare-metal restore.
This is my first post at the forum. I have read thousands of pages so far and learnt a lot of things from all of you guys. I really appreciate this forum and your contribution. Thanks to you I modded my BIOS successfully two months a go, although I have not install WAT yet it works well so far. My current configuration is Gigabyte MB - Gigabyte SLIC - Gigabyte Certificate and Acer Key. However I am planning switch to Gigabyte MB - Acer SLIC - Acer Certificate and Acer Key just in case. I do not know if it makes a great sense in practice, but matching SLIC, Certificate and key combo looks much secure to me. After flashing my BIOS with new Acer SLIC I will need to update Certificate. So how can I reinstall a new certificate? Does simply applying new certificate with “slmgr -ilc C:\NAME.xrm-ms” command over the old one work? Also is there any reason to keep certificate file in root directory after applying it? Is it safe to deleting it? Thank you all…
Hi AnarethoS! I am Sysadmin in a real big company. No Way for Microsoft do do that. They have make a solution where you not have to take 1000 PCs to activate. If this happen, I am sure that in my company they will go to a Unix derivate. They have to develope a system where not every computer have to activate, but also a system which is not so easy to hack (my personal opinion is that EVERY system can be hacked and this is many times proved).
I give you a good advice. Always be sure that MB, SLIC, Certificate and OEM Numer is from the same company. (Asus MB, Asus SLIC, Asus Certifacte and Asus OEM Number) - with this combination you will have no problems with Win7 at all! As long as you stick with Win 7 you will be genuine, for sure!
@Anare: m$ will never ever drop "support" for oem pre-installations and Win8,etc.... will not change this policy.....
As you write. Yes. No. Yes. I'm sure that non-matching SLIC, key and certificate will be flagged. Not so sure about the mobo. But might be a problem later.
I would just like to say that anyone saying "90+ days from now" needs to be hit around the head for such BS scare tactics. When Windows 7 launched they tried to say activation would fail and things would get blocked. When a WAT update is announced they try the same crap but from what I have seen 95% of people are still activated perfectly fine via a loader or BIOS mod. The update is optional, not forced. WAT performs the same check each and every time its run so some 90+ days won't make any difference Seriously if you are reported as genuine now then don't worry about anything, it's come SP1 when the next test against activation will come. If anything happens before then a fix will likely be released the very same day. By the way, posting your activation information on here is risky as it can aid Microsoft who do look at this forum.
But that can remove OEM preactivation and force activation for customer-grade computer but still offer MAK keys OR licensing server in enterprise.....
AnarethoS: You are halfway through right. For server for sure you are right, but we have many single computers (round about 200) which are not over the KMS Server. No way that MS to miss this chance to make money!
to Hung-Kwan: Let us burry the hatchet. Please give me one real reason what you ever argue with your comments. Please every time what you wrote was garbage, one real reason where I am not right, OK (in my comments of this 180 pages)?
Maybe you are right. But M$, for Windows 8 at least, could ask that each computer sold by an OEM manufacturer to have a unique identifier in the BIOS. Then, only theses computer could be "legit" (like OEM SLIC + CERT + KEY + Unike key). And if many computer has the same identifier, that's would mean that the original buyer gave his "bios-key" to everyone and M$ could then lock-down this key, killing by the same way the original computer from being genuine.
Chriss71 and troels, thanks for your reply. All matching MB-SLIC-Cert & Key makes sense a lot. Unfortunately I am not able to change my current MB right now. I have been trying to follow this thread almost from the beginning. So I know that matching ones passed successfully. But I could not collect enough knowledge so far in order to verify/understand my own situation. Of course I would like to try it myself to experiment; unfortunately I am in the middle of something, which I can not interrupt.
