to get all of the apps to work you need to be logged in with a winds live or hotmail account
i had the same problem i origally started setup from build 7989 but when i ran setup from boot to disk on a reboot i was given the option to login with live id and now everything is working

Yeah it's weird. You have to have Mac OS Extended Partition then in Windows Installer delete it and create an NTFS partition, then it works!

How do I run wwa from the command line? For example the weather wwa has the command line "C:\Windows\system32\wwahost.exe" -ServerName:Weather.App.wwa from task manager, but executing that command gives the message "The system cannot execute the specified program.".

And "C:\Windows\system32\ImmersiveControlPanel\SystemSettings.exe -ServerName:microsoft.windows.immersivecontrolpanel" does apparently nothing.

You mean no one has figured that out? Does wwahost run in some kind of virtual machine?

The reason I'm asking is for example that one installation can't run any apps through wwahost.exe. Clicking on the tiles, or switch to in tm.exe app history does nothing. Another installation lost the wwahost.exe ie, it was replaced by the regular iexplore.exe (with small icon in the lower left corner rather than the big ie icon) and I don't know how to start the wwahost version of ie now. Update: This failure to run is because of a buggy resolution lockout that stops wwa from launching if the veritcal res is 72

On main PC, I've an SSD as Boot Drive ( Win 7 x64 ) and a secondary HDD with games on, etc.

I created a partition of 150GB on my secondary HDD to install WDP. But, I keep getting this error, for both disks and whichever partition I choose: "The Selected disk has an MBR partition Table. On EFI systems, Windows 8 can only be installed to GPT disks."

The only thing I found is that if I want to install WDP on my secondary HDD, I must format it entirely and convert it to GPT... While now is MBR, I cannot convert just a new, clean partition...

Am I missing something? Can I do anything else except complete format?

It's not really a finding but...

When you use some resolution equal or higher to 1024x768 you can open immersive apps.
When you use some resolution equal or lower to 1024x600 you can't open immersive apps(except Control Panel).

So I opened an immersive app and i've changed the resolution from 1280x800 to 1024x600 and when I switched the app was still opened and it worked in 1024x600.

So probably there is a way to unlock immersive apps in lower resolutions.

Do not create any partition before, but let the setup create one for you. That should work just fine.

We have to find that setting! That was my problem, I was completely stumped why all wwa would fail to run, not even a message that the resolution is too low. And I was running 1280x720! I changed to 1280x768 and it worked. Since most of the worlds netbooks run at 1280x720 this genius in effect made all netbooks incompatible with the win8 dev preview, we should start a petition and find this guy and give him an award for making win8 incompatible with all the worlds netbooks, bill gates would be proud.

I don't think installing Windows 8 DP on a netbook is a good idea!

Out of curiosity, does it boot up much faster (once installed) if we do this compared to the "normal Boot Camp" method?

...maybe I'm doing something wrong here, but
I've managed to install it via the EFI method. But it constantly... well, it's an awful, awful experience. I try and install any driver for the system and it reboots, then has to system restore before I can get it to log in again.

How did you manage to install the drivers?
