I never got a $2 option , I deactivated then clicked on the link to the store and the store activated me
Yeah it was a mistake, I contacted them and they are refunding me, its not the money its the principle
they probably thought people would of been smart enough to remember that insider is free always and question them selves or other if they should be clicking it.
Im wondering if it is a test system for people that get pirated windows on their devices. and this is microsoft way of trying to help you also reading into it. "helps when you change out your hardware and system wont activate". sure we can activate for $2.00 and your device is now covered again for free updates. I KNEW IT!!.. THERE WAS A CATCH TO THE FREE UPGRADES.... j/k
Regardless it seems odd pricing. As it would be for those wanting a new 10 key. Not upgrading from 7/8.

congratulations....you paid for a free operation system...... I dont think people understand, that they dont pay anything for insiders editions of windows 10. it just for some reason some clean installs wont activate. sometimes starting the store it self activates the system. some had no problems with activating on a clean install. it happened sometimes with the other builds.
First the statement that Insiders will get Win10 for free even when they opt-out Insider program... and they changed this statement later. Now Win10 for 2$... and the surprise when they announce that was just a test. Can't wait
Microsoft is gone phishing now. Can't they afford to run an internal Store to test this kind of stuff? Imagine every website would put beta content on the front page without notice... okay, every serious website. They could at least mention it in the description.
