I didn't. I didn't have access to the external HDD so I couldn't follow your advise.

I did a check on MiniTool Partition Wizard like you said and it found no problems.

If you don't see any extra partitions and it's in the original case you might want to take the drive out of it to use in a dock after copying the data. Some model My Books have high failure rates then you're stuck with a disc that you can't read because it's encrypted. I lost My Roger Cormab Movie collection when the usb port fell off one. Had things not listed on IMDB or elsewhere because he doesn't even remember all the movies he made.

I din't know how to take it from the case and I don't have a dock. I formatted the external HDD.

If you already cleaned and formatted using diskpart there shoudn't be any problems, so the prolem is beyond Bat limited knowledge :(

I didn't use diskpart, only Windows "normal" format.

Sorry, I thought you were asking about the external HDD brand again. MSI.

Wow, that strange.. Maybe you might want contact vendors see why the USB 3.0 issues?? so, as you know not all laptops do have some flaw issues.. SO, you have to fiddle around the bios setup where causing.. ..

I didn't have it with the previous BIOS settings. Also, the latest BIOS update (which I installed) was removed from the MSI site and replaced by the previous. Odd.
