I just tested Pro again with VMware without problem. Now I am gonna test Core (Home) on this physical X99 PC. (This new PC has Pro Digital Entitlement already.) Upon my Server 2016 - Same PC, I have nearly all edition installations, I need two more partitions. One Win7 Core, one Win10 Core. See you later. Edit: No, It would not boot for I do not have Intel 750 driver for Win7 .
You upgraded,or you clean installed and used the gatherosstate.exe and DAZ to activate Windows 7? I'm really frustrated by this. Everything I've read has said it should work, I have no idea why it's not working for me.
Win7 Home (Core/Core Connected/Core Country Spesific/Core Single Language) to Win10 Home Win7 Pro/Ultimate to Win10 Pro Check it out. Or, bring the time back to July and try again.
I'm thinking what I might do, if I can ever get Windows 10 to activate, is to set it up on one PC the way I want then clone it to all the others. If it doesn't activate on them, I'll install W7 on a VHD on each one then get the genuineticket.xml and copy it. In theory, it SHOULD then activate. But before I can try that, I have to actually get Windows 10 to activate in the first place, which so far I haven't been able to do.
Cloning alone won't activate another device. Just generate genuineticket.xml on each seperate system and after putting the clone on the systemdrive apply the ticket (from that system) as yen explains in his thread.
@DaGoz 1. Are you checking that Windows 7 has the blue genuine logo displayed? 2. Did your PC's originally come with Windows 8.1 Core installed? 3. Have you used software such as RW-Everything to see if the PC's have an MSDM table?
1. Yes, I checked that Windows 7 had the Genuine logo before I upgraded 2. No, they came with a Chinese version of Windows 7 called "Flagship", dodgy as hell, but I formatted and installed Windows 7 from Murphy_78's ISO. 3. No, I never tried that.
I am not Chinese, unfortunately. But I do work in China which is where I'm trying to set these computers up.
The activation server might be denying the free upgrade to PC's in China or some Chinese branded hardware might be blacklisted. Nobody here would know for sure. You could try connecting to a US or EU VPN and then copying over the GenuineLicense.xml file. Just make sure that the PC's date and time are correct.
Right, I'll keep trying. Push come to a shove, I might have to use the AT upgrade, but I'd really like to be able to use the gatherosstate.exe method. Thanks for the feedback!
Well, I tried again with a different computer, Win 7 Ultimate, activate with DAZ, validate online, upgrade to Windows 10 Pro, still no love. HOWEVER! Something I thought of: When I install Windows 7 from Murphy's ISO, I don't remember it specifically asking if I wanted to install 32bit or 64bit, and I never thought to check once it was installed/activated. I will take a look tomorrow when I get a chance to get back to the computers. Hopefully, the problem is I'm getting the genuineticket.xml from a 32bit machine and trying to use it on 64bit Windows 10. Fingers crossed again!
I haven't used Murphy78's iso's lately but i can't think he has an auto-selection for x86 or x64 installs, the last ones i downloaded were separate iso's for x86 and x64.
Well, I just checked the title of the original ISO, and it definitely says: Win7SP1_5in1-x64-May2016-USB3-en-US So, back to the drawing board.... I guess at this point my only hope is to install W7 Ultimate on each computer, activate with DAZ, validate online, then do the AT update and hope that activates... After that, I can clean install w10 on each one, setup one the way I want it then clone the settings to all the others. But if doing the online update doesn't work, I have no idea.
