To each his own. I've been using CCleaner for years. I remember it was approved by MS for use with W7 while W7 was still in beta release. I have always let CC clean up the registry, and do so without making a backup. Its never been a problem. Not only CCleaner - I like and trust just about anything from Piriform.
When I use CCleaner to clean the registry it always finds and erase that, and I never had any problem, in XP, 7 or 8.x
Yeah this is the thing, CCleaner is like the safest registry cleaner and the only one I would use, but why would you see leave them alone? I'm sure there's more to it as these same errors are there on every version of Windows....
Yes. I've also seen them on every installation and pass CCleaner. I choose to delete them and see no problems in performance/usage whatsoever.
Yeah I've always cleaned them and didn't notice any issues. Just wanted to confirm with you guys and maybe get a better understanding why there are such errors in the first place.
How can anyone see a performance increase or decrease. Windows and programs do not start at HCR and end at HCC, sitting there going oh where oh where is that key. Most times a cleaner is a waste and will cause more problems then it fixes, and it will never make windows faster. The only time you use one is when a system program or other program has a problem due to a key or in rare cases, if you have a min amount of memory, and you have installed 50 programs then uninstalled them, shrinking the size of the registry due to all the unused keys left behind gives back memory for use. Even though it's not an issue, it's better to use a uninstaller, like Your Uninstaller when you remove programs, as the uninstaller removes all traces left behind by a program. Cleaning the registry is as bad as cleaning memory, you're taking a piece of hardware and reversing what it was designed to do, store functions in memory. OH NO help !!! my truck has too much gas, how do I remove it. LOL
