Windows 8 Professional x64 @ Intel D510MO, 4gb ram, 1TB hdd. Fully onboard - runs way too good to be true.
Thanks! Umm, where can I download new firmware? If that's the case, then my box is completly wrong, (I still have the video card box around here somewhere) Unless I somehow got a 480 even though I only paid for a 465, and it recognises in hardware as a 465). I biult my computer new. It cost over 1500 in parts alone. I biult the most kick-ass system I could at the time, but I refused to use Intel. (because of cost). Even though it's been 2 years since I've biult my system, I still get a 7.4 on my Windows Experience Index for Windows 8. Even Windows 7 is a 7.9.
on my Acer TimelineX 4820tg. ati rtm drivers not detecting switchable graphics yet. on a VHD dual booting.
Thank you for your reply and explanation! Windows 7 lite is actually doing fine on this old laptop, and as I thought Win8 is even lighter than regular Win7, it made sense that it could be done! BTW: how did you circumcise the memory check during install? I know that in case of Win7 I used a patched winsetup.dll, that permits installing even below 512 mb; did you use something like this installing Win8?
