Yeah, luv that "character and argument assassination" of a pure genius... Everyone is a troll to a troll, 'course... Somebody should also do the ugly thing and point to actual facts here... (GITOUTTCOURT!!!! )
Tesla YouTuber wins free Next Gen Roadster after referring $5M in sales A freebie!!! AHA! Cool or what?
Energy Dept to award $15 million for very fast electric-car charging The United States Department of Energy has announced a new funding initiative to accelerate the development of what it calls "Extreme Fast Charging" (XFC) systems. In total, the DoE will award $15 million for the development of electric-car charging systems as well as batteries capable of very fast charging. http://www.greencarreports.com/news...5-million-for-very-fast-electric-car-charging I suppose, the $15M are just for starters, as whoever achieves the goal will get much more from its exploitation.
And then reality began setting in... https://jalopnik.com/this-guy-documents-nearly-a-year-of-quality-problems-wi-1819955046
Yes...reality -did- set in. And now, Elon Musk realizes that He must think seriously about production, and hiring the right people to do the job.
You mean like, for instance, engineers which can design a new method to anchor the inner door panels ? I mean really, How hard can that possibly be ?
Can't buy one where I live.... probably a good thing too http://www.detroitnews.com/story/bu...gan-denies-tesla-dealership-license/90427216/
Elon might be running into copyright patent issues. Can't use the parts that are already used/in use by another car co. A few years back, GM got dragged into court over the Hummers grille resembling the Jeep grille so GM had to re-design it. Although by now I would think those clips that secure the door panels would be out of copyright/patent. There was also a case about the honeycomb shaped grille Ford/Chrysler was using but I can't remember any details of it
@Joe C: That's how it's done. A company designs and patents' a device / system, and licenses its' use out to other companies. How can Tesla hope to compete with 100 years of engineering / testing experience? Doing it Himself? It's a noble aspiration, but that's not how it works. IMHO, it's amazing how much progress he's already made. And even if his cars are not solid, it seems to me that he's already lit a fire under the auto makers to come up with a full electric vehicle. That's the best outcome to hope for. That it gets done.
I kinda like the thought of the old fashioned phillips head screws... You know, like Ford had in their F-250's back in the early 70's. Copyright/patent that Bi7ch.
@JFKI: At one point, they were. Eventually, the patent ran out and everybody started making them. A patent only gives you the right to sue. If you don't have the money to carry the lawsuit, then there's not much you can do.
No, I was actually shocked on several different levels. 1. That there actually IS a patent on phillips screws. 2. How quickly and easily I found that patent. 3. How recent that patent is. Then I read it and found that line absolutely hilarious. ( my neighbors must think they live next to a nutcase... Perhaps they are correct. )
So... is that a good thing or a bad thing? (Maybe it depends on what he was screwing?) (or his screw driver)
