Ooo, aaaacchhhh... 12 bill in 7 years for 40 new EVs in China.... aaaaaa!!! https://electrek.co/2017/11/16/volkswagen-announces-new-electric-cars-china/
[OPINION="MJ"] It doesn't matter if Elon Musk builds a single EV. By doing what He's done, He's thrown down the Gauntlet to the Worlds' Auto Makers. And they've picked it up. And now, every industry that's crucial to the EV industry will get a much needed infusion of research funding. This will only benefit us in other markets. (e.g. cell phone batteries.) [/OPINION] ( I made my own tags. )
yup... your next EV BMW will be made in China, not so much for employment for manufacturing EV's in the U.K.
Well, the UK were leaders in the car industry in the distant past. But strikes and sloppy workmanship (I'm-alright-Jack-manship) pushed them aside. Now that a new technology is coning in, it's their chance to start afresh and establish themselves again. But they don't seem so determined. My money is on the Chinese.
Well. well... from near obscurity into his own, creating the XXI century... Yet another "Tesla" company... https://nikolamotor.com/one It really is hotting up... Who said "never for trucks"? BUAHAHAHAAAAA!!!
https://electrek.co/2017/11/16/cheapest-electricity-on-the-planet-mexican-solar-power/ Well, now... it might be that 'electrical' is really the future, after all, even the imminent future - at least in some places... as I have advocated for a while now...
OMG. A comment form someone actually in the industry who has at more than a half dozen brain cells to rub together.
If you want to take a look at Tesla from a financial perspective, these videos are about as unbiased as I could find. The last video discusses it from a manufacturing / engineering perspective. -AND- One market analyst remarked that Tesla removed the word 'Motors' from the name. Is is possible that Tesla will be manufacturing batteries for the EV makers when that finally comes to pass? Something to think about, as our current suppliers of batteries are mostly offshore.
Must take a better look at that... In the meantime, here's something bad from a "failure" https://electrek.co/2017/11/20/tesl...b491909ad94ed&uid=917878446&nid=244 276893704
