Your on the wrong planet . What your writing is the worst sort of capitalist nightmare .

Your buisys making adverts for the people that have sentanced the biosphere to death .

Your ' vision ' of the future has no basis in reality ......... unless we have a MASSIVE scientific advance that isnt even imaginable for science ......... and people that have visions should go to a doctor :)

The reality of the situation is not more consume its LESS .

Realistic predictions of the future are of a species that washes at the most once a week , wears clothes untill they fall apart , clothes wich we give to our children and grandchildren ....... untill they fall apart . Where everything that can be recycled is recycled = We wont be buying new things , we'ill be useing everything untill it falls apart ......... and buying 2nd / 3rd / 4th hand things ........ untill they fall apart .

Not blinky blinky glitzy glitzy shiny shiny plastic s**t .

    Robot Shuttles are not Robotaxis
    [IMG]
Robotaxis are nothing more than repurposed autonomous cars used for ride-hailing. Some may be bought by ride-hailing companies and Tesla sees you being able to afford a much fancier car if you hire it out for part of the day.

e.Robot shuttles are the opposite - a totally new form of transport. Not sold to private people, they are custom-designed for cities having an exceptionally small footprint per person. They have large sliding doors for wheelchair accessibility and are boxy and symmetrical so no U-turns are needed. That means they will be allowed down walkways since they are gated to only go at modest speeds. Silent, clean, safe, and unobtrusive, they are probably going to be able to go into shopping malls, and sometimes they will be carrying passengers free of charge. Costs can be covered by advertising, doubling as parcel delivery and other options. Smart cities thus empower the poor and disabled - their avowed intent. Intensively used and rarely empty because they are multipurpose, smart shuttles eliminate traffic congestion as space-wasting, under-utilized conventional vehicles are restricted or banned. Eat your heart out Robotaxis.

On cue, analyst firm IDTechEx has launched a new report, "Robot Shuttles for Smart Cities 2021-2041" to explain the new realities and to present technology roadmaps and forecasts for 20 years ahead. The first large orders have been placed. More of the world's giant companies have entered the fray, some even likely to be both customers and manufacturers. However, with several committing billion-dollar levels of investment, IDTechEx cautions about some predictions of "selling hundreds of thousands a year" soon. IDTechEx forecasts are more sober but large on a twenty-year view.

First Tesla S plaid on fire - lawyer calls for delivery stop

The first high-performance Tesla S plaid to be delivered went up in flames after a few days. The driver found himself locked in the burning vehicle.

A luxury Tesla car that was delivered over the weekend went up in flames while driving on Tuesday. It is said to be the very first Tesla S plaid with over 1,000 hp delivered to a private customer. At the same time, the car's electronics failed in the incident near the US city of Philadelphia, so that the driver's door did not open. According to his lawyer, the driver had to use his entire body weight to open the door.

After the chauffeur escaped, the Tesla, which was already burning brightly, is said to have started moving again. According to the information, it took firefighters over three hours to extinguish the fire and cool the batteries of the wreck. The vehicle, which costs more than 100,000 euros, is hazardous waste a few days after it was taken over.

See, perhaps if you would inform yourself at least a little so you do not embarrass yourself so amply...

As for electricity problem in California: they had it before EVs and it has nothing to do with that but with bad capitalism model but again, why bother with strategic thinking, causes and all that - let's wipe the floor all the time, without ever shutting down the pipe from which the flood originates...

Yes, no doubt, like anything else - various levels of quality...

On the other hand: gas, petrol, diesel and other fires, people being killed sleeping by CO and on and on.... and?!? What's your point?

The climate crisis is a crime that should be prosecuted
    Mark Hertsgaard

Fossil fuel companies lied for decades about climate change, and humanity is paying the price. Shouldn’t those lies be central to the public narrative?

The future is pretty easy to predict when it comes to performance EVs.

For now, in the US at least, EVs able to go 0-60 in well under 3 seconds are rapidly becoming common and will seriously eat into the conventional performance car market over time.

I have 0 faith that 10 years from now there will be hundreds of thousands of EVs on the street all capable of 0-60 in 2.2 seconds.

IMO, they are letting EVs get away with this for now with the intention of fast EVs displacing ICE performance cars.

Once significant headway is made there will be mandated over the air updates "...in the name of safety..." limiting EVs to more pedestrian performance unless GPS information indicates that they are currently at a registered track.

Green minister secretly changed from an electric car to petrol

Brandenburg's Green Health Minister Ursula Nonnemacher (63) proudly presented her new E-Audi in March. “The government's first fully electric company car!” But B.Z. learned: She secretly drove the gasoline engine of her State Secretary - out of fear of range!
