I agree that the decent ones are still quite expensive but on balance - it's worth it...

    For instance: id4-brochure-pricelist-april-21.pdf - around 40 grand...

Oh come on! Petty dialctic trics arent needed on a calm discussions, especially towards someone that basically is agreing with you.

Just don't be lazy and google for the obvious

    This is Shell (Anglo-Dutch)

    This is ENI (Italian)

    This is Total (French)

    I can continue for a a day.

In short Oil company may be evil, but be sure they aren't masochists, if they feel the wind is changing they are all managing to be prepared to the day the wind truly turn side.

Romans said "pecunia non olet" (money don't stink), and money coming from green energy don't stink "by design"

first to hear our government say.
Do you have a green car? pay by mile
Do you have a hybrid? you pay by a mile too,
and you have to pay a regular import tax (100% of the value sold),(for hybrid)
if you have gasoline, you pay regular tax, Excise, we call it (מס בלו)
That last nail in the coffin of that s**ti idea
you have to be a company \ Rich man to buy this s**ti scooter (CAR)

Not sure how tax work in Israel, but here more than half of the gasoline/diesel price is tax, so you pay by mile in a gasoline car.

In most developed countries taxes from car in general are a large part of the government income, in short the kind of motor is supposed to change the amount of taxes you are naive.

If hypothetically cars would be banned altogether, be sure you'll have your sinkers and bike taxed heavily to replace the missing income.

I don't see the reason either NOW, perhaps my last purpose is to help the US economy, let alone sending my money to a fascist dick like Musk.

But be sure that in the next decade I'll evaluate an electric car, which surely will become cheaper and and long running.

Exactly like I did with PCs, VGAs and other tech.

For the record the first CD player released by Mission (if memory serves) had a tag price of 50K$ of the time, in 2/3 years was affordable by enthusiasts, another couple of years and CDplayers were everywhere at the cost of a Pizza + beer.

No, you can not go on all day long and no, they don't have huge undertakings in that direction, as they are driving us down the road to hell while frantically squeezing every last drop from the fossil fuel - constantly pushing for ever more drilling, more "developing oil and gas fields, no matter how dangerous and polluting (fracking etc.). WAKE UP!!!

THE point, however, that I made is that you wouldn't be able to quote anything of the sort, anything at all, no matter how small, if it weren't for the state changing the strategy (please, don't miss it again...)!

I even gave you some of the relevant literature and major names in the discussion to explain that these things are NOT mechanical, simple, one-dimensional and uni-directional!

Capitalism, in all its fawcets, is full of contradictions! These are not there by mistake/error/chance - but by design!

There is NO TRICKERY IN DIALECTICS!!! It's a critical thinking skill everyone should be educated in! Alas...

They are capitalist corporations, they do whatever they can to make money.

Which means that OBVIOUSLY they try to squeeze every drop from their old business, but also they (most of them anyway) are already aware that the old business is coming to an end in the next few decades.

The two things aren't mutually exclusive, you can go to the casino and bet 10$ on black and 2$ on red.

Critical thinking MUST be applied ALWAYS, when reading what EXXON-Mobil writes, when reading what Musk writes, when reading what Greta Thunberg writes, but also when reading what You wrote (which is what I did), unless somewhere is proved that you're the owner of the absolute truth, my opinion is good at least as yours.

As a general rule when you start to imply that your interlocutor is a "poor ignorant" that need to stop sleeping you're starting with the wrong foot.

    That's all, nothing personal.

Yes you did and that is OK in principle but - no offense - you're a bit confused in THESE issues and not exactly current on developments as to how late capitalist society works...

The thing is, these things are not personal but knowledge one acquires during a lot of studying is - in the end - personal and one certainly can tell the difference between an amateur and a pro.

What you can see in these PC/tech or science-related discussions is I state "I am a non-techie" or an "IT-lay person"... I think a bit of intellectual honesty and openness is good for the old soul... Pretence is tiring....

On a personal note: trying to diminish the interlocutor's knowledge with cheap sophistry (dialectics as "trickery") or so obviously omitting points raised which you don't have an explanation for is... Oh, well... Doesn't leave a good impression...

electric cars are ok for driving locally around town
though not recommended for traveling very long distances (or when driving in the middle of nowhere like in a desert where there are no charging stations)

Seriously, to understand the society you need FIRST to live, you need to work for corporations, you need to work as self employer, you need to face the real world threats, then theory helps. But theory alone is, almost always, just a snobbish/elitist exercise, which in turn is almost always fuel for the right winged organizations.

Reading the silver spoon and being a cook aren't the same thing.

Well that's surely a UScentric perspective. In most of the developed countries there is no middle of nowhere, say in Italy the largest city is in the 3millions of people ballpark, but we still have twice the texas' population in less than half its surface.

Which means the nation is plenty of small Towns and smaller villages, spread almost evenly.

In the US even the electric trains are almost non existent, while in Europe most of the network is electrified since the beginning of 1900s.

But all of the above can be a good thing at the end of the day, which means that the research will aim to electric in the US, and a car that can be good enough there, will be just perfect elsewhere.

you're right here, Europe is a tiny place you can travel from one side of it to other in like 2 hours or even less, yet so many people live there, extremely over populated. In America everything is so much bigger. Not even sure why people want to actually live down there in so much crowded place

I didn't see Marx being a labourer. And I am not even gonna mention Engels... (Ooopppssss... :D ) That is a non-argument, sorry. You are now trying to exclude people by your very own experiences and that is just a really piss poor attempt to eliminate people from the discussion, instead of engaging with their arguments rationally. (Emotional, really...)

Maybe if they were, we had the whole world painted in red...(Ooopppssss... :D
That's THE argument of the life/universe/everything. Theory alone is usually weak, no matter the field.

Einstein didn't build a nuclear power plant, nor a atomic bomb, nor time machine... "Practical" people Like Fermi, Majorana or Oppenaimer did.

Marconi didn't even have a degree and invented the radio same for Meucci who invented the phone and so on...

Revolutions of any kind implies the hand put on dirt...

You do realise that this is also "just another theory" - and a bad one, at that...???

P.S. Marconi did NOT invent the radio, he stole xx amount of patents from Tesla to "pull it off"... Really, inform yourself and be a bit more serious with your "arguments", please...

Yeah, I always forget that you are the owner of the truth while I'm the ignorant guy who has just theories.:roflmao:

Said the one who don't believe in the American propaganda.:rasta:

Perhaps even if you were right here, and obviously you aren't, Tesla was just another practical person. Not a theoretical physicist, nor a armchair revolutionary like you.

Son, we are finished. Only you and the Italians don't yet know that Tesla was posthumously given the patent and many other honours and awards...

So, I have better sources of information and therefore better quality information, I share it freely - and this is what I get... Oh, dear...
